He always seemed to be genuine to me for his causes. When he lost the presidential race, it was disheartening. Then as the current president kept getting the country into mess after mess, I wondered how things would have turned out under the direction of another man. Surely, the 9-11 tragedy also known as the new pearl harbor would not of happened and we would not have gone to war. Basically, all the domino effects would probably have not happened. I guess that is another topic for another time.
I have seen Al Gore’s movie “An inconvenient truth”. It is definitely inspiring. I have taken little steps to try to make my living style a green one. I have all CF light bulbs in our place. By the way, you can see the savings in your electric bill. I recycle bottles via separate waste receptacle. I also traded in my old car for a Toyota yaris which gets an incredible 40 miles to a gallon. And believe it or not, I think based on my driving habits I get about 45 miles to the gallon. I think it is because I rarely go over 60 mph. All these changes, just because I do believe the consequences we are experiencing now are from our previous actions. I really believe the extreme weather changes are from our C02 pollution. I am inspired that if more people do their part, it will all add up and make a change for the better.
I read an article about Al Gore’s $100 million makeover from Fast Company that states: “It turns out that the best thing that ever happened to Al and Tipper Gore’s Net Worth was losing the 2000 presidential election. Since that time he has gone from a family net worth of $1 to $2 million to one now estimated at $100 million.” It is good to see someone with a good heart and contributing to make a change globally also do well financially. Seems to me he is like the Jimmy Carter of our time. A true humanitarian making a change in our world for the better. In retrospect, Al Gore losing the race may save the world!
Watch his movie, make the change, and you will feel better. Spread the word. Watch the trailer and read things you can do. The website is: Climate Crisis. And this is the link of 10 things you can do to help.

chessnoid: i think you missed the boat on
saying 9-11 would have never happened if
al gore would have been president. the previous administration he was involved in
ie clinton did nothing in regards to our national security. we had ships attacked as
well as embassys blown up with little or
no response to the agressors. al gore also
is very incosistant with his green polices as well as other in his own party when you
look at there lifestyles. the are green when convenient for votes.
The saying goes “things happen for a reason”. I think it was a blessing in disguise that he “lost” *cough* the election. I’m sure it was a devastating blow in more ways than one. He was able to pick himself up and focus on something he was always passionate about. In the process, he did an amazing thing that is affecting people everywhere – that being bringing much needed attention to a problem at hand. I really admire him for that.
Thank you for your post. I enjoyed it.
Thanks David for your opinion. It’s always good to receive feedback and a great way to see both sides of the coin. I do appreciate your comment.
Thanks Alilsumptinsumptin for your opinion. I really believe in that saying: “things happen for a reason”. I agree that he has definitely made a positive impact, more so as a businessman than a politician.
hind site is 20/20, we don’t really know how things would have turned out, had someone else been in power when 9/11 happened, but I certainly believe Gore is doing all there is in his power now to help out genuinely! And of course I believe that if we made mistakes, doesn’t mean we are not capable of doing some good now for the betterment of future!
Good post Chessnoid!
