I know cell phones are all the rage and probably the most popular toys out there. Judging the success of the Apple Iphone, it will continue to just get better and better. Way back in the day when brick cell phones came out, I remember getting an emergency phone for my 1990 Honda red crx. Now that was a cute car! And can you believe the gas mileage for a stick shift of over 50 mpg. Incredible. I want to say gas was about $1.10 a gallon. Funny thing about it, just seems like yesterday. Anyways, back to the phones.My first cell phone was installed in that car. Yes installed. Back then cell phones were not wireless. The antennae was mounted on the back windshield. The phone was mounted on the center console. My cell plan was the cheapest one. 30 minutes a month for $39.99. Anytime minutes to boot. Back then they didn’t have unlimited nights and weekends. Nor was the phone rechargeable. If the car battery was dead, then so was my phone. I did some crazy commuting back then, because the price of houses were out there. $120,000 for a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom house but only out in the boonies.Fast forward today, we all have George Jetson phones (You know that cartoon where the man’s jet car folds up into a suitcase…) Today’s cell phones now plays music, takes pictures or videos, sends emails, text messages, voice mail, speakerphone, pda, calender, some with flashlights, alarm, 500 hour standby time, voice recorder, plays video games, surf the Internet, AOL instant messenger, and watch TV. You think there is nothing left to add, but there is. We just don’t know it yet.

I read some article they will be the currency of tomorrow where you can use it like a credit card. Oh, did I mention you can talk on it like a regular land line phone. Hee heel. Sometimes I crack myself up. Hmmm, that may be the reason I don’t have too many friends. Great things with these phones, they give them to you FREE with just a 1 year commitment. Before the year is up, of course, you will need and want to get the latest cell phone. No problem upgrade another year and there you go. Ta da! Now that is magic. When the apple I-phones are freebies with a one year commitment, then I will sign up. Check out the video and see everything it can do. I was really surprised!
