House foreclosures, ramen noodles, Ebay update, & TV technology

I found a new blog that I think is very useful to check out if you are a window shopper like me. I look at condos through craigslist, redfin, and zillow. Now, I wasn’t even looking for it but one of my favorite blog sites Dr Housing Bubble put a list of 55 useful sites. The one in particular I liked was the Countrywide Foreclosures Blog which now states it is up to almost 11,000 just for that lender. On the page I clicked on, it allowed you to click on the state and it would actually show you the details of the actual properties in question. At the right side a column shows its location and zillow profile link. In the old days, you would have to go to a realtor to find these things out, but now it is magical with just a couple of clicks on the internet.

Another site that I have frequented lately is the Ramen Blog. Of course, this is only if you like eating noodles. And I certainly do. After I found this site, naturally I googled for blogs on my other favorite foods like pizza. Be warned though, only do this after you have eaten, otherwise you will find yourself craving to eat.

The EBay auctions I set up have 1 bidder so far this week. That is earlier than usual. If I get bids on my auctions it is usually on the last day. I did list a few penny auctions to get some interest. Hopefully it works.

Today marked the return of my big screen TV. After I turned the power on, there was no sound. After a few minutes of playing with the remote control, I realized that the external speakers were not put back on after the repair. I called them up and picked that up and my TV was up and running. I love to watch movies on my 37 inch screen lcd. My only regret is I didn’t purchase a larger screen. In the future, when I make my next TV purchase I am considering one of those tiny projector TVs. They are high defintion, weigh like only 5 pounds, and the picture is 6-12 feet. Kind of like a small theater I guess. I have been checking out forums to see what actual users are saying and most of them seem pretty content. The only problem is you can have too much outside light coming in or you won’t be able to see the picture. Maybe there will be new technology in a few years in TVs that I don’t even know about now. We are living in the George Jetson future technology now.
