Bowling is fun

Posted on Aug 8, 2007 by CHESSNOID in Uncategorized | 0 Comments

I remember when I first learned how to bowl. I sucked. 300 is a perfect game and I wasn’t even breaking a 100 points. It seems simple enough. Roll a bowling ball down the lane and knock down 10 pins. Although, I sucked at the game, I wanted to become better. I never could learn on my own, so I took a bowling class at the local communty college. There the instructor taught me the approach, watching the arrows instead of the pins, and sticking with the follow through in the form. After the summer class, my average game shot up to the 150’s. I was pretty happy about that and I enjoyed the game a lot more. I wish I was good enough that I could make a living off it. That will never happen.

Anyways, I was perusing the orange county register and ran into this article Best female bowler in the world settles to be a born-again amateur.   She is really passionate about bowling. She has made over $300,000 in career earnings, won some gold medals at the pan am games, and has bowled 25 perfect games of 300. That is very impressive. I have seen people bowling 8-9 strikes in a game but never 12 in a row. I once bowled a personal high score game of 215. Of course, no one was there to see me when I did it. I was so excited when I did that, and when I tried to share this with my family and friends, they were like “uh huh, and when did this happen? and who saw this exactly? oh really, no one, huh?” Well, I still know I did it.

To be a professional bowler on national TV would be awesome. Tell me what you think of his form.
