So tonight, I went out to In & Out burger for a quick bite. The drive thru line was short, but the people in the suv took about 15 minutes to order. In case you are not familiar with this fast food joint, it is really good ad fast. Oh yeah, they serve only burgers, fries and drinks. That’s the part I couldn’t understand why these customers were taking so long. Normally, I am pretty patient but when I am hungry and there isn’t really any choice of what you can order, hello….
The sunday ads aren’t out yet, but staples let’s you check out their circulars early. They have that $299 destktop deal with the 17 inch clunky monitor after rebates, and a super cheap $599 no rebates 17 inch Acer wide screen laptop with the vista home premium edition operating system. Both are good deals in my opinion, but with prices this cheap week after week for about 6 weeks in a row now, I really wonder what type of deals will be out during the Christmas shopping season. Like I said, I will wait till the new year unless of course I come across a deal too good to pass up. I will keep you informed.
Now, I heard a surprising thing about the company I used to work for. They laid off some people which is hard for me to understand because during hard economic times like we are experiencing now, collectors become in demand. Most companies will take anyone regardless of experience or quality of collector just so they can have all their accounts called on. I am not sure what is going on with that company but it must not be very good and possibly serious financial problems for that company. When I worked there, they were offering $8,000 monthly bonuses, high hourly wages, unlimited overtime, full benefits, and hiring 30 collectors a week. Yes, I said 30 collectors a week. I have been a collection manager for over 15 years, and when I came to work for this company, I kid you not, I saw ex-employees and co-workers from my last 4 jobs from the past 15 years.
We had an earthquake here in California. It was 1 am this morning at it did wake me up. The whole building I live in was rocking back and forth for a minute. It was just a mild one at 4.5 but enough to remind me and other residents this is still the shake and bake state.
Lastly, I sold another $25 comic book on EBay. Yes! That is always a good thing. Only 40,000 more sales and I will be a millionaire. I need to continue putting up auctions every week and building up my recent feedback, which I think will actually boost my future sales. Also, I have a bid on another auction with a perfect feedback buyer. That will be a nice $10 sale.
