I grew up in the age of pong, space invaders, and asteroids. As it progressed into more advanced games like pac man, Ms pacman, and centipede. When I was a kid, my father bought the kids an atari game system. When computers came out, we also got the commodore 64, which not only ran computer applications, but video games as well. I am fairly familiar with video games to say the least. The last system I bought was the Sony PS2 the slim version. I only have 1 game I truly like Tekken 5 which is an mixed martial arts MMA 3-D fight game. My ranking is tekken lord on that game.
It is a span of 35 years of my 40 year life, that video games have existed. I think after the PS2, I conceded to my age and no longer find the video game world as exciting as I once did. The games are definitely even more advanced and most of them are better quality graphics compared to the ones I played in the arcade during my time. I wonder if it has anything to do with the money. I could easily charge the game systems onto a credit card, but the idea of spending $300-$600 on a game system and $40-$60 on each game seems to turn me off. Not only that, these games are so addictive that you can sit in a chair for hours at a time and play the day away. I know games are here to stay, but now that I am over my addiction I wonder if I have just transferred those feelings over to the internet and computers.
On a side note, that Nintendo Wii bowling game looks pretty fun. I am tempted to buy it.
