Inspiration

Sometimes I get bogged down with the weight of the world on my shoulders. I always want to help others and don’t want to let anyone down. That is why when I read the Web Urbanist’s post on homeless nomads, it piqued an old feeling from 20 years ago about what I tried to do with a canned food drive at school. It made me remember that excellent documentary by Marc Singer’s Dark Days that followed a group of homeless people in their plight to find a home and get off the streets. And no he is not the same Marc Singer from the Beastmaster. Then I read the homeless guy’s blog and he actually inspired me to be hopeful in all things.

I realized I can focus my feelings on despair and sadness which exists all over the world, or I could focus my feelings on hope and gratitude which exists everywhere in my life. I make a conscious effort to be positive and focus on all the good things in my life which is why I am happy most of the time. I do know sometimes things in our life can become tough, but I think we are all in the same boat, we are all connected, and we are all captains of our own journey.

Watch this video and see if it can put yourself in a better frame of mind . Just like watching my puppy videos it made me feel good. Post a comment and tell me what you think.

I appreciate what you’ve written in this post but unfortunately, the video felt like it was trying to be emotionally manipulative by staging some of the scenes. It reminded me of that cheesy re-enactment in the beginning of “The Secret” DVD which was a total turn-off and would’ve scared me off had I not seen some of the speakers in an Oprah show beforehand.

But aside from the video, I like your message. The homeless guy’s blog does indeed bring back some good old altruistic goals I used to have in my late teens.

Hi alilsumptinsumptin, I appreciate your comment. Yes, these videos are definitely staged but I am not sure they are intentionally trying to be emotionally manipulative. Regardless, as long as you come away with a good or better outlook, then I think it is all good.
