First of all, thank you for coming to read my blog. This last week has had the most impact on the number of people actually reading and coming back to see what I have posted. I appreciate it.

Most of my new readers came from MyBlogLog. I am no longer a hot community but it was nice while it lasted. I am now getting hits from both BLogCatalog and WeBetUr sites. The little Romlet that shows who is supporting me is cool It looks like the program picks up your little icon that you browse with and have on your site. I have seen mine on there. I do wish I could make it bigger because it would make nice wallpaper. Check it out and see if you can see yours on the side bar. The nice thing about it is it will link you back to your website. In a sense it is a floating link and all you have to do is visit often.

My next step to find readers is to get a better understanding of the technorati and google page rankings. I have read a few articles about it from Blogging Mix’s site. I can’t say I understand it completely, but sometimes you learn by doing. I hope that happens with this. He breaks it down as below:

If you are looking for ways to improve your GOOGLE PAGE RANKING and TECHNORATI RANKING, I recommend that you give Viral Linking or Viral Tagging a chance. All you need to do is follow these four simple instructions and you’re on your way to increasing the number of links to your blog.

1.) Copy and paste the entire matrix of “ViralTags” below.

2.) Substitute the Host Tag and one of the “ViralTags” in the matrix with your anchor text of choice containing your blog’s URL. Please keep anchor text to a maximum of 4 words to keep the matrix size manageable.

3.) When you get a ping back from someone that has your link in one of their “ViralTags”, practice good karma by copying his/her Host Tag’s anchor text (automatically the associated link will also be copied) and paste it over one of your “ViralTags” below.

4.) Encourage and invite your readers to do the same and soon this will grow virally.

I have noticed that my technorati legitimately went up when I followed Blogging Mix’s advice and joined WeBetUr and also when I joined the MBL group. My ranking was sitting at 2 then went to 4, then 6, then 5 then 9 as of today. What does this all mean. Beats me, but if it will help me drive more traffic in, I am willing to try. I hope this helps other new bloggers like myself. Even though I do write because I enjoy it, it is a nice and pleasant thing to know someone read it and may have taken something from it. Of course, if you have any advice to me to help me raise my visibility on the web, please comment and let me know. I would love to hear any tips and willing to try them out.

I did sell another comic for $20 on EBay which was nice. I have sold something every week for the last 4 weeks. Nothing substantial but it is good to get rid of stuff and have someone else get some enjoyment out of it. I consider it a form of recycling. I have lost money on a couple of sales where I put it up for a penny, and that’s what it sold for. I know how awesome a feeling it is when you are the winning bidder on a great deal like that. So I don’t mind basically giving it away.

Today, the stock market took off and didn’t look back. It basically canceled out yesterday’s poor performance. All 3 indexes went up again all just based on some news from the Feds. Short term this is good, but long term I can’t tell. If the problem really is just a housing bubble that took 7 years to build and is about to pop, I don’t know if reducing the rates or coming out with new products overnight will solve the real issue. Again, I live in California and the prices of houses and condos are in the $500,000 and $300,000 range respectively. That is for the little places. There has been a dramatic drop in prices and in some areas the prices have rolled back to 2004 year prices, but even those seem to be too high. I don’t know when the bottom will come, but I can only guess that when more bad news comes, then more market panic will set in. The numbers today were:

One last thing, I have read hundreds and hundreds of blogs through MBL, and found a few handful that I will visit often. It is actually nice to be able to communicate with the creative authors. When they comment and email you back, you then realize we are all connected in a good way. I have put the links to their sites on my blogroll, and think you should click on them. If you like their site, put a comment in and let them know I recommended them. It does make a difference. I know personally I would like it if everyone who visited just posted a comment to say hi and acknowledge if the post was good or bad.
