Stock Market update 8-30-07 9:00 am affected by housing market again

All 3 indexes I follow opened down today. A quick sell off to lock in gains and jump out of the market after having a good day to recapture the previous day’s loss. At the moment the buyers have all come back in to push all 3 indexes up. Tomorrow, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s speech will either push the market up or down depending on what he says. Right now, investors think he will say something positive in support of trying to avoid the fears of the credit crunch or housing bubble burst. Foreclosures are up, sales are down, and leadership by the feds can turn this market around long term.
