Happy Labor Day! I hope you have been able to relax and just enjoy life.

I forgot to mention yesterday morning we had an earthquake of about a 4.3 magnitude. It shook our home pretty good. It was centered in Lake Elsinore. Lately, it has been extremely hot . I live along the coast and it was still in the over 90 degrees. I went to visit my mom in the inland empire and it was between 105 and 110 degrees. Ouch! I used to live out there a few years ago, but I forgot how hot it really gets. Sure am glad summer is almost finished. I hope it rains a lot this fall and winter. We really need it here in California, but that is the same story every year. We are in a perpetual drought.

I updated my site a bit. I stuck a new sidebar widget that shows what countries all my visitors are coming from. Zblog had it on his site and I really like the flags showing up. It’s still up for debate to take the cluster map down because it is kind of redundant and too small to be appreciated without having to click on it. I might just move them together since I do like them both. I installed some nostalgic games at the bottom because they were games I use to play for hours at a time at the local arcade when I was a kid. I remember playing Donkey Kong at Cal State Long Beach while I waited for my sister to get out of class. During high school, I liked hanging out there with my ex brother in law because it was fun. We would play 3 bowling games at the student union then finish up with a video game. It seems like every video game I have seen is like a song that I have heard, both take me back to a different period of my life. I may create a new page with just the games if the background noise becomes annoying or if it slows my web page loading time.

In my last post, I mentioned that my permalinks work now. I am really happy with it and do hope it makes a difference in the page rankings. That will help attract more possible readers in the future. A few posts ago, I posted about viral links from Blogging Mix’s site and tried it. It really does seem to be working in increasing my technorati ranking. It says it is up to 21 now. Before I became more proactive in increasing my viewership, it was sitting at 1 or 2 for the longest time. This ranking is suppose to reflect my search engine optimization (SEO). I focus on this because this relates back to attracting more readers. I am planning to do another one in the near future and update the links. Just put your comment on this post if you want me to include your site.

Prior to that I had joined MyBlogLog (MBL) which featured my community and that is what really help me boost my readership. On top of that, I found a ton of sites that I enjoy and read alot now. The other sites I have joined BlogCatalog, WeBetUr, and Romlets has also contributed sending new visitors to me. I would highly recommend signing up for all of them, and please feel free to add me as a contact, join my community, or vote for my posts. ;). My RSS subscription is completely full now and lets me check which ones have new postings. I probably subscribe to more blogs and sites that I can keep up with on a daily basis. I do enjoy them all too. I have put some of them on my blogroll so you can click on them and see what I am reading. I will probably add more. Recently, an awesome website I frequent Web Urbanist put a temporary link back to my site. That was a pleasant and appreciated surprise. :) I think web karma is at work here.

This coming weekend we have a free UFC event being televised on Spike TV. It has a great card with some interesting fighters. The main event will be Dan Dangerous Henderson and Quinton Rampage Jackson. Both are great wrestlers and have fought top level fighters. They are both coming off big wins. Henderson knocked out the Brazilian Wanderlei Axe Murderer Silva and Rampage just knocked out Chuck Liddel a second time.

On the boxing front, ESPN has mentioned De La Hoya contemplates next fight — at welterweight but hasn’t announced who his opponent will be. The boxer chosen will be just like a lottery winner and will get his biggest payday! My guess it will be the winner of the Ricky Hatton Floyd Mayweather fight. Remember, his loss to Mayweather was actually a split decision, so that would be a good rematch. DLH just needs to use his jab consistently to win more rounds.

This past weekend I watch alot ot tennis on the US Open. I have followed tennis since Michael Chang retired on the men’s side and Steffi Graf retired on the women’s side. The top seeded men look very strong. I don’t know which of the four to cheer for: Federer, Nadal, Djokovic or Roddick. A couple of other men in the tournament I can cheer for are Moya and Blake. Those 2 guys I actually still remember seeing a few years back. I don’t really know any of the current women players except for the Williams sisters, Henin, and Sharipova who has been upset already out of the tourney.

We watched 3 movies this past weekend that I enjoyed. One was called Perfect Stranger with Halle Berry, Bruce Willis and Giovanni Ribisi. It was actually better than I thought and a good popcorn movie. The second movie I saw was a foreign movie called La Vida Que Te Espera with Luis Tosar and Marta Tura. Not your typical Hollywood movie and also had some good twist and turns like the 1st movie. Not too sure about the way it ended, but that’s what makes foreign movies different. The last movie we saw was called The Ex with Zach Braff, Jason Bateman, and Amanda Peet. Very cute comedy that has some really funny moments I would recommend seeing at least once. My wife and I usually watch more movies but since I have been trying to manage my blog more, that has taken away from our movie time. :(

Lastly, I have used the netipot about 8 times now. I do think it has a good long term affect of making me breathe easier. I have done it basically every other day.

I just wanted those of you who put me on your viral link:
