We are having a crazy heatwave out here in California with temperatures reaching over 100 degrees in certain areas. On the news, they said over 10 people have passed away due to the heat. Most of them were elderly in homes without air conditioning. Another earthquake near La Jolla at 4.0 magnitude happened this morning. I didn’t feel that one. I am a heavy sleeper and not too much can wake me up when I am in a deep sleep. Weird thunder storms are popping up in the high desert area even with these high temperatures and causing flash flood alerts. We are definitely in earthquake weather if such a thing exists. I wish those thunder showers would hit my area. I really love the rain.

I heard rumors about the mma world that billionaire Mark Cuban is trying to sign up the number 1 ranked heavyweight champion of the world Fedor Emelianenko . I think if he is able to get Fedor signed up, that will be good thing for the sport of MMA long term. The more organizations competing for the best talent will help to also compensate the athletes better.
You can see that after Pride was bought out, nothing has happened with that organization. It looks like most but not all of those athletes that competed on that organization are idling just waiting for their contracts to run out or for UFC to give them a chance. More competition is best for the sport. I think IFL, Showtime Elite XC, Chuck Norris Combat League, King of the Cage, and other venues is helping build a larger base of mma fans.

The stock market was open again and had a great positive closing that made all 3 indexes I watch close up. I think we should have a good week. I know the housing situation isn’t really resolved yet and every month will increase in foreclosures. I am actually considering selling all my stocks and putting it in cash funds. I haven’t sold any stocks in any of the accounts I have for the last 7 years, but there is a basic principle of buy low and sell high. This is where timing may become a factor. It could go either way, no one really knows for sure. But like the housing market people kept buying and pushing the sales prices higher, and for a few years were able to get someone else to buy for even more after they bought for a stellar until now. Well, I don’t want to get too greedy and be caught in that type of situation where I am regretting it.
