My technorati is up to 57. Thank you for everyone who participated in the viral link project. I will probably do it again next month. I did a couple of changes on the blog. I removed Bumpzee and WeBetUr temporarily. They seemed to slow the site loading up. I also cleaned up the ads I use to have from Google adsense and Amazon. Both are temporarily gone. I didn’t make a penny with either of them, but that is probably more just an issue of me not understanding how to use or place them properly. I will put them back up after I do some more research. I am testing a new blogger tool to help bring in more readers to my site. It is called Blogrush and Wahmbuddy was very enthusiastic about it. She is a very successful blogger I like to read so I immediately signed up. The side widget is on the sidebar. Basically, you cross promote each others blogs through these widgets. Each time a page of your blog loads, you get a syndication credit for that. For each credit you get, your blog will be shown in the widget on someone blog similar to yours. This can possibly increase your traffic by a 1000 visitors. As always I will let you know my results with it. It is completely free to sign up and you get free credits for referrals so please click here CHESSNOID’S BlogRush and give it a shot.
I watched 2 foreign movies that were both enjoyable. The first one is The Lives of Others. This movie really moved very slow, but it started to build momentum after 20 minutes. It takes place in Germany before the walls comes down. It is unique in that I think it captures a piece of history and the lives of its citizens. They live in a Big Brother type of community. One of the main characters is a person whose job it is to spy on people. His subjects are 2 artists. One is a screenwriter and the other an actress who live together. Basically, you watch the spy, who is a very loyal citizen of his country, start to change his views on how his government is run by listening to these two artists’ discussions over a period of time. He also observes how the government including himself impacts the lives of these people in a negative way. The spy has good character development and the ending brings everything together. I highly recommend this movie as long as you don’t mind subtitles and a slower pace movie that pays off at the end.
The second one is Offside. This movie is more simple in plot but captures the mood of the people in a 24 hour period. The basis of the movie are Iranian women are banned from watching soccer with men. This is torcher for the die hard female fans as this game is a qualifier for the World Cup against Germany. These female fans basically dress up as men in disguise and try to get in the games to watch history in the making. The characters they focus on are the girls who get caught and the military guards who must watch them. To me, this film looked real and almost like a documentary because the dialogue didn’t seem contrived. Again, this is a simple movie plot but gives you an indepth look at the way the Iranian society treats it women in its community.
I don’t remember if I mentioned it by we cancelled our Netflix subscription because of poor service. We have made the switch to Blockbuster and so far they have sent us more movies in the same month period. We used to be with Netflix since 2002 so it was kind of hard to just give them the boot, but service became extremely slow and unacceptable.
Tonight, there are some free fights on showtime. Be sure to tune in because they will be very entertainig. Nick Diaz is probably the best known fighter on the card. He recently beat Gomi in Pride FC but was later disqualified because he smoked some pot before the fight and tested positive for it after the fight. I don’t agree with that decision, but it was still a great fight. A popular female fighter Gina Carano is very fun to watch. She is aggressive and a good striker. Here is the card:
ELITEXC: SEPTEMBER 15, 2007 ON SHOWTIME
-Robbie Lawler vs. Murilo “Ninja” Rua
-Jake Shields vs. Renato “Charuto” Verissimo
-Nick Diaz vs. Mike Aina
-Joey Villasenor vs. Riki Fukuda
-Gina Carano vs. Tonya Evinger

I’ve gotten on Blog Rush too via recommendation from Heather and it might just explode.
I’m a sucker for soccer, so that Offside review looks really interesting. It probably serves as a backdrop to the film’s intent but still gonna check it out. Thanks for the tip!
Hi YC, I agree on the Blog Rush thing. Just hope it works, and can’t hurt to try.
If you get a chance to see the movie, let me know what you think.
i still dont understand technorati and i joined 3 days ago..i can never seem to figure out how to increase my authority lol
Hi Angel,
Understanding technorati is confusing in the beginning. I cut and pasted from my previous post straight from their site:
Technorati Authority is the number of blogs linking to a website in the last six months. The higher the number, the more Technorati Authority the blog has.
It is important to note that we measure the number of blogs, rather than the number of links. So, if a blog links to your blog many times, it still only count as +1 toward your authority. Of course, new links mean the +1 will last another 180 days.
Technorati Rank is calculated based on how far you are from the top. The blog with the hightest Technorati Authority is the #1 ranked blog. The smaller your Technorati Rank, the closer you are to the top.
I didn’t understand how it worked either. But that gives me a better idea, Chessnoid. Thanks for posting it. Even though I still don’t have much “authority” lol, the viral link thingy helped increase it. Will do it again sometime soon.
I am glad to hear it. Everyone deserves a little viral link love. My new goal is to be 100 authority in the next 30 days and to continue to increase my readership. Thanks again for your comment and reading my blog. I do appreciate it.
