Shogun Vs Rampage

.
.
There is another UFC ppv tonight. UFC 76 has a decent card. When I checked to see who was fighting, I saw a link to the Fight Network where Randy Couture makes some predictions:

THE NATURAL PICKS: UFC 76
Here’s what the expert analyst is predicting:

Light Heavyweight : Chuck Liddell (20-4) vs. Keith Jardine (11-4) – LIDDELL

“Somebody’s going down in this one, more than likely Jardine. I think the knockout will come in the first or second, depends on Chuck. If he’s a little tentative at first it may take him a little longer. Jardine’s gonna wade in. That’s what he does.”

———————————

Light Heavyweight: Forrest Griffin (14-4) vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (16-2) – GRIFFIN

“I think he’s going to beat him every round. I just think the rules are different, and there’s a few other factors I’m not going to bring to light right now.”

———————————

Welterweight: Jon Fitch (19-2-1) vs. Diego Sanchez (19-1)

“Diego makes me pay every time I go against him, but I’m gonna go with Fitch.”

——————————–

Light Heavyweight: Lyoto Machida (10-0) vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura (11-6) – MACHIDA

“Machida’s gonna beat him up.”

———————————-

Lightweight: Tyson Griffin (9-1) vs. Thiago Tavares (16-0) – GRIFFIN

“Tyson’s going beat him, It’s going to be the fight of the night again. It’s going to be a brawl.”

I know he is an excellent fighter and probably can guess which fighters will win, but I thought it would be fun to post my own predictions.

I will pick Liddell, Shogun Rua, Sanchez, Machida, and Tavares. By the way, my record is awful when it comes to picking the winners, but I love guessing anyways. The 2 fights I am certain of is Shogun. I believe his skill level and stamina and power will be enough to ko Griffin. I don’t think Griffin is at that level of fighting yet as Arona, Nogeira, and Overeem who Shogun has beaten recently. Shogun also beat up Rampage when they fought and don’t think he will disappoint in this fight (see video above). I also don’t think the cage format will make any difference for Shogun who is making his debut in the octogan since he has fought in a cage before.   And I think Sanchez will be back in top form to beat Fitch. I am pretty sure those 2 fighters will win their fights, respectively.

    Hi Apiley,
I pretty much was wrong on every prediction. I am 1 for 5. lol. Although, one of the fights, many people disagree with the Tavares vs Griffin decision.
Anyone who wants to make money in the future in Las Vegas just needs to pick the opposite of my choices. ;)
