The last few days I have actually had over 1000 stumbleupon stumblers hitting my site daily. It was the George Carlin post. I received that content from my little sister who forwarded me the spam we all get in our email box. This one stood out because there were no dancing hamsters singing and it was such a good inspirational story. I decided it was worth sharing it with you. I never imagined it would actually become my most viewed post. How ironic is that. All my personal posts have never done this well. Lol.
I am glad everyone seems to have got a positive affect out of it. I did get a few people hating saying negative things and that I am trying to tell them what to do, blah. blah, blah. They completely missed the point of the post. I think haters always look for the negative in everything and are always the first to find fault. I hope they find some inner peace and can learn to enjoy life for what it is and what it can be. I know I am an eternal optimist, but life is too short not to enjoy.
I am guessing that a stumbleupon god must have gave me a thumbs up by chance and then rest just followed for good karma.
The stock market is having another great start. We are approaching the previous highs.
| DOW | 13,905.38 | +27.23 |
| NASDAQ | 2,710.15 | +11.12 |
| S&P 500 | 1,530.48 | +5.06 |
I kind of missed my romlet, MBL, and BC widgets but they really did slow the site down. I still may put them back in later. Just not sure yet. I am curious that if you are using the blogrush widget, are you getting any traffic from it. I took them down already, but I thought they had a great idea. I think the execution was poor, but it just seems like it would have to work for somebody somewhere because they got alot of users signed up. I haven’t heard any positive reviews since they went live.
**Your website profit site included me in an October link, so wanted to return the favor.

wow, synchronicity! I just made a post about my stumbleupon traffic surge.
I’ve been using it for a looong time and it’s only recently that it’s been getting a lot of blog attention. I’ve found some really good blogs through it.
have you tried video.stumbleupon.com ? it’s saved my mind when I had to spend 2 days in Germany with no TV, it has some excellent full length documentaries on there which really pass the time at work or in a cafe abroad!

Hi Andy,

That is ironic we both received an extra surge of traffic from SU. I will check out that video stumbleupon site and hope I find some great stuff to watch, too. It must be nice to be travel all over Europe.
I love SU. I’m not addicted to it.
Thanks Andy for pointing out stumblevideo. I’m still not addicted.
YC’s last blog post..StumbleUpon Breaks Up Relationships
Hi! Chesnoid. As with any blog and the comments that are left, you have to take the good with the bad. Hopefully, most of are good!
You can never get everyone to agree with you. That’s what constructive debate is all about.

Hi YC,

SU is similar to my old habit of TV channel surfing. Also, the first sign of any addiction is denial. lol.
Hi Peter,

I agree with you. All I can really do is focus on the positive and let the negative glide over me. Thanks for encouragement. I appreciate it.
it sounds nice but being on first name terms with the cabin crew of EasyJet means I spend too much time in cramped planes!

I really miss the dancing hamsters! Well, not really.
Congratulations on reaching your StumbleUpon milestone. If you weren’t hooked previously, then you are now!
Hey Andy,
I wish I was on a first name basis wih an airline crew. lol. Cheers!
Hi Matt,
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, I still remember those dancing hamsters. lol. I am definitely getting more hooked on StumbleUpon for sure.
Being on first name basis with the female airline crew would be enough for me.
And Chessnoid - I did not deny anything!

I know YC, just kidding around. Sorry, didn’t mean anything by it.
Hi! Chessnoid, Just curious. How much time do you have to spend on stumbleupon to get a really good reaction. Regards Peter.

Hi Peter,
Lately I have been spending about an hour a day but I don’t stumble around continuously. I break it up into 4 or 5 sessions of 10 to 15 minutes throughout the day. I notice my stumbleupon time getting a little bit longer each day. I tend to use only the thumbs up for the stuff I like and avoid using the thunbs down and just skip over them with no ratings.
As for my personal postings, it is just a hit and miss. I notice that if I mention in a post on recent events, that will give me more stumbles like celebrity related stuff. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Thanks for that tip!

Hi Peter,

It’s my pleasure. Cheers!
Wow, that’s quite amazing SU stats. I’ve never experienced the SU surge.

Hi EbestAgent,
Yes and I am just an amatuer blogger. I visit other sites that get more than 10,000 hits daily. They usually have great visuals on them, either pictures and/or videos. One that comes to mind is the http://www.WebUrbanist.com which I like to visit on a regular basis.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Cheers!
