Tomorrow is my 3 month blog anniversary. Thank you for supporting me by reading my blog, commenting, and sharing with me. It is because of you that I continue to blog. Cheers!
I installed two new little widgets on the side made by aBowman.com that has cool koi fish you can feed and penguins that wobble around. I know it is just more of a novelty but they are cute. Another reason to come to my site is to feed my new virtual pets. Click on the widget and you will see what I mean.
My technorati authority is up to 88 and ranked 61,772. If you are a blogger, this is one of the numbers you like to watch just because technorati is the blog rater that says links exist pointing back to your blog. Indirectly, this also reflects actual traffic that goes to your site through the blogosphere. A good example is when I plugged aBowman.com and created a link in my post, his technorati should have jumped up by 1. Some of you who are interested in what he or she creates will click from here to there. Thus a technorati measurement on potential traffic I created for that website now exists. Hopefully, that makes sense. I am just learning this myself through practice. If I am wrong, please comment and correct me. I will not take offense.
My most popular post is the post title Message from George Carlin which is not written by him. Just one of those inspirational messages passed on by emails. I am getting over 2000 hits a day and over 4000 hits last Saturday from stumbleupon. I think alot of people must enjoy it because it is 10 days later and I am still getting crazy hits for it. I still get emails letting me know its not by him even though I have stated that in a post script and in the comments. Compared to the number of hits and comments I have received, that is a tiny number. I do think it is funny what certain readers focus on. I try to focus on the things that are positive as many of you do too. To be a blogger is actually a challenge in itself, so all positive reinforcement is appreciated and goes a long way. Muchos gracias!
I do wonder why my visitors map widget doesn’t pick up the traffic like my other counters do on this site. I like those country flags and am up to 80 countries. I am just amazed I have had the opportunity to have someone from that country read my blog. If you are not a member of stumbleupon, I highly recommend it, not just to try to build your own traffic, but because there are tons of great sites to be found from all over the world. This is a great way to speed through to find them.
On the subject of links, I was reading The Laidback Buddhist’s last post about sex and noticed she had a healthy blogroll. I jumped to read another blog from her site to dcrBlogs who has some funny sarcastic humor. His last money post was really funny. That is when I noticed he had a tabbed page that keeps his blogroll on just another page. His blogroll was even healthier. (Thank you both for including me). I thought that was a great idea and will probably be copying that format. It will allow me to store all the blogs and sites I like to visit and read all in one place, and give them a nice link back. Please comment and let me know what your thoughts are about this type of linking just all on one separate page.
Another blog I read on a regular basis is A Lil Sumptin Sumptin who sells beautiful jewelry. I read one of her posts a few days ago that will give her 90 links to her site with a promotion called 90 features in 90 days on 90 different blogs or sites if it is successful and gets full participation. How cool is that! I wish I made jewelry or something. I would like to do something like this with my blog but am lacking ideas for the promotion aspect of it because I don’t really sell anything. I am filing that idea in the back of my mind till I figure something out.
I really missed my little Mybloglog, BlogCatalog, and Romlet widgets so I have decided to put them up. I am putting it near the bottom to avoid any long page loads. Hopefully, it will work out because I do like to see who is stalking me.. ugh, I mean reading my blog.
The stock market took a breather and closed down but really a small setback considering its amazing run up since the fed cut the rates. We are still having housing market problems that a lot of analysts seem to be discounting its true long term consequences. That will all reveal itself over time. I saw a news segment on channel 7 saying that housing has hit bottom and having a real estate builder stating this is the best time to buy in over 10 years. I can’t agree to that because when I peruse Redfin and Craigslist for my possible future home, I continue to see the prices being marked down and homes staying on the market longer with higher DOM (days on market) numbers.

Thanks for the link and the mention!
dcr’s last blog post..September Blog Income Report
My pleasure dcr.
Haha, hm…if I could I prefer having them on a separate page, it makes it look less cluttered on my main page…or perhaps, splitting my link list into two with the favored one on the main page. I’ll probably work that into my next layout.
I love the MBL and BC widgets for tracking purposes. It’s not so much stalking as it is social networking, right?
LOL
Joanne’s last blog post..
Those are great numbers, Chessnoid! 4000 hits in a day is simply amazing!
I’ve been doing some house-hunting for my girlfriend recently and the housing market is in such stark contrast to that in the States. Just now, a flat owner (government housing) was asking for US$1,900 in monthly rental - do note that it’s public housing without amenities that private condominiums enjoy and wasn’t even in a prime district.

Hi Joanne,
I was thinking the same thing on the new page. DCR page tab works for me. As far as the MBL and BC widgets, I agree. I really like to see who visits. Definitely a social networking tool, I was just trying to be humorous.
Hi YC,
I was definitely amazed by those numbers. I just wished it was on one of my other posts. I can’t complain because I know I have some people who will browse my site and like my regular blog posts. Hopefully, they become regular visitors. As far as I am concerned, all traffic is good.
Thanks for the plug, Chessnoid! You rock! And congratulations on your blog. I’m just amazed that you’ve posted something every single day - sometimes more than once. You’ve given and shared something of yourself with each post. In the process, you gained a lot back too - the discovery of a new passion (blogging), new friends, new acquaintances, new fans, increased stats, and much much more! Happy 3 month anniversary! A job well done, my friend.

I just noticed the penguins (from Nick’s comment)…that is hilariously adorable!!! I love how the heads flip side to side when I move the mouse from left to right, haha!

Hi Nick,
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate your support. I think your blog is cool too.
Cheers!
Hi Joanne,
The penguins are definitely cute. The designer has other cool stuff at his site. Click on the fish to feed them and they behave just like the real thing.
Hi ALSS,
Your welcome for the plug. I do appreciate your support of my site too. It’s all about spreading goodwill and karma.
Cheers!
