Last week, I moved my boxes of comics to a new storage site. I use to have sell a good amount of comic books on Ebay. When I changed my daytime collections job 3 years ago, I had basically stopped cold turkey. I never realized how many comic books I had in storage and don’t have a true count. By my estimates I have approximately 50 comic short boxes with about 150-200 comics in each box which would bring my inventory in the range of 7,500-10,000 comics. They are mostly marvel comics consisting of X-men, Wolverine, and Spider-man. Obviously, you can see this was an addicting hobby for me. I started out by just buying comics on EBay I knew when I was a kid and trying to recapture my youth in some odd way. Then when I had too many comics which meant about 200-300, I decided to sell them back to EBay. initially, I made some crazy profit where I originally bought 50 comics for about $25 and re-sold them on EBay for about $80. That is when I started to sell more on a regular basis. At my peak I was putting 40 auctions up a week. I created a system that would help me market and sell them consistently. I would like to get back to that, especially since I have such a massive inventory. When I started my blog, I did try to it again. I have been able to put up 10 auctions up at any one time but not consistently in the last 3 months. I have made approximately $250 after Ebay and Paypal fees. I think my new goal will be to place 20 auctions up and generate about $500 revenue for this month. I will try to keep you posted. So far I haven’t put any auctions up in October and my last sale was on September 30 for $20.
I have created a new widget sidebar. It is a link to add me to any of the communities I belong to. If you haven’t added me to any of them please feel free to do so. I would really appreciate it and of course I will add you in return. I believe creating a social network on these communities will enable both of us to generate more traffic for each other and will build an excellent sense of community. I continue to get requests to have certain things dugg or stumbled and I am more than happy to honor those requests for my mutual friends. So definitiely join and don’t be bashful to make your request to me. Just drop me a comment.
I finally created an All In One Blogroll page. For now, I have added anyone who was on my original blogroll. I am going to add anyone who comments from today forward. This I think will eliminate the need to do viral links in the future, since every link on the blogroll page will be a permanent link. I do want to dress it up a bit later on but for now it is a simple link to your site. If you are not on there, drop me a comment and I will add you.
I also added back a feedburner on top of the technorati widget. On my dashboard it says my feedstats is 112
. I am puzzled to why the feedburner (shows only 1 ;( ) does not reflect the same amount. I tried reading up on it and asked a couple of bloggers why the discrepancy, some say I have to wait until feedburner does its update and others say it just doesn’t count from the same source. I was thinking I might have set it up wrong, but it seem simple enough that I thought I did it right. Regular cut and paste, but you never know, I have made plenty of easy mistakes. I just want to fix it if possible. Please do add yourself to my RSS if you haven’t already. I would appreciate it. Is it possible that feedstats and feedburner are actually 2 different counters for different things? I just assumed they were both RSS feed counters. If you have any ideas, please let me know.

Regarding the FeedBurner stats, I believe when you log into their dashboard the number that is displayed is not your subscribers, but rather the number of people who accessed your feed today. Weird, I know.
However, I am not 100% certain about this.
Abstract Promotion’s last blog post..5 Website Promotion Myths
Hi Abstract Promotion,
Thanks for the comment. I believe you are right in that the daily numbers are the people who access the feed. But down at the bottom is actually a subscriber number. I am trying to find a wp plugin that will show just like the feedburner does now. I get the feeling I installed the feedburner widget wrong. I will give it a few days and see if I can figure out how I messed it up. Thanks for your support.
I don’t fully understand the feed stuff either. I have two, one that says zero, the other seems to be functioning. I have subscribed to your, Will you subscribe to mine? My other feed is at http://othersideofnewyork.com
Thanks. You have an interesting site. I loved comics as a kid.
Windyridge’s last blog post..
Hi Windyridge,

I am getting a better understanding. As of today, one of mine is up to 27 and the other is 1. So I think I know what I did to mess it up and fix it. Of course I will subscribe to yours.
Thanks for the comment. I still like comics as of today.
Cheers!
