I have seen Al Gore’s inspiring movie An Inconvenient Truth. Not only did it make people think, but it helped start the movement internationally to combat global warming. Big companies and countries are now making an effort to decrease there CO2 emissions because of this one man’s efforts. That is not enough, but definitely a great start. The solution requires all our active participation and it won’t cost you a penny. All you need to invest is time and effort.
I have taken little steps to try to make my living style a green one. I have all CF light bulbs in our home. By the way, you can see the savings in your electric bill. I recycle bottles via separate waste receptacle. I also traded in my old car for a Toyota yaris which gets an incredible 40 miles to a gallon. And believe it or not, I think based on my driving habits I get about 45 miles to the gallon. I think it is because I rarely go over 60 mph. I bought solar lights for our patio which power themselves up directly from the sun. These are all little change, but everything we do indirectly affects our environment. I do believe the consequences we are experiencing now are from our previous actions. I really believe the extreme weather changes are from our C02 pollution. It is never too late to change our ways into green changes. I did it and you can too. We all must depend on each other.
I am inspired that the more people get involved, it will all add up and compound exponentially to make a lasting change for a better future for us and for our future generations. Watch his movie, make the change, and you will feel better. Spread the word. The website is: Climate Crisis. And this is the link of 10 things you can do to help.

Boy Chessnoid, you’re really doing your share. I’ve always recycled, I think it’s one of the easiest things that you can do. I walk a lot to nearby shops instead of driving and group my errands to lessen my driving. It’s a start, but I’ve got to do more. It certainly is worth our effort.

HI Shelia,
I do what I can. This is definitely going to help us all. I think grouping your errands is smart. I must start doing that consistently. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers!
Okay, here I am commenting.
By the way, I loved An Inconvenient Truth.
Now, I just need to practice its tips more…

Hi Paula,

Thanks for commenting. I thought that was a good movie and really helped awareness.
Cheers!
As the oldest of nine children, recycling was called something else at our home! Thanks to my mother, we habitually (and grudgingly) ‘repurposed’ long before it became the trendy and ‘green’ thing to do. Smart woman!
Thanks Mom!

care to teach me please
I actually haven’t seen An Inconvenient Truth yet. To be honest I’m a little afraid it will just get me more worked up than I already am about the environment.
I do what I can too, but industrialism threatens the efforts of mere men.

I love “An Inconvenient Truth” I’ve lost count on how many times I have watched it! I am always curious though at how people bag Al Gore. He does what he does and is good at his campaign. There are however weather patterns that can’t all be changed by human behavior. We can only do what we can to help the environment… the rest is up to mother nature!

Excellent! It is great to start my day reading about others doing their part in helping to care for the Earth. I have always been earth conscious and it is encouraging to see people paying attention.
Enjoy!

saw the movie too and was deeply touched by it…scared actually. we all must do our fair share in saving our planet. Nice one. thanks for sharing.
Everytime I hear that whales have beached themselves for some unknown reason, or sharks becoming increasingly aggressive, I can’t help but wonder and suspect that it must be because of all the chemicals and pollution that we have dumped into our oceans. Man is its own worst enemy. This film has made a huge difference in raising awareness and it’s definitely had a profound affect in my life.
Great post, Chessnoid!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for visiting.
@ Blogging Mix. I believe in Karma so am very happy to help out a good cause.
@ bluedreamer. I am probably not the best to train in blogging for more traffic. However, a lot of the bloggers here that do visit blog about how to increase traffic and optimize your site. Check out my blogroll, they are more experts than I am. Many of them have articles on how to increase traffic.
@ Ryan — I know what you mean by getting worked up. I think it is OK to be passionate about improving our environment but just got to be careful in not getting so upset our blood boils.
@ Ange R — I really enjoyed Al Gore’s movie but only saw it once. I think mother nature is doing things to balance certain things. Extreme storms and heat waves are destroying many man made things. Hopefully, our changes will avoid those violent weather changes.
@ Msterilinn — I too am encouraged by everyone’s participation and the increasing awareness of our environment. Hopefully it will continue to gain momentum at a global level.
@ Sophiagurl — I know exactly what you mean about being moved by the film and scared at the same time for all the consequences we have brought upon ourselves. Hopefully, we can get to where we need to be.
@ alilsumptinsumptin — I think those weird ocean happenings are a direct cause to global warming. Now that the ocean temperature is rising, the whole ocean dynamic is causing things we normally don’t see. I think the movie has had a positive impact on many people just by raising awareness.
Thank you everyone for commenting. I sincerely appreciate it.
Good post, worthy sentiments indeed.
One other comment. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw the spider in your side bar - eeeek! Horrible!
Sorry to lower the tone but I HATE spiders!
Hi Diane,
Thanks for the comment. I think it is a good cause and glad to participate.
I use to have penguins before the spider. It is by the same person who made the feed the fish widget. Since it is Halloween this month, I changed up the theme a bit. Sorry bout the apider scaring you. I like the way the aBowman designed it. Has a realistic feel.

Cheers!
you don’t find it odd while Al is telling us how to live greener he uses more energy
in his home in a month than most americans use in a year. also why don’t he fly first
class on a commerical airline rather than a private jet sucking up as much energy? i’m for a clean environment but clean up your own backyard before you tell me how to
be greener.
Hi David,
A lot of republicans are anti environment people who don’t believe in global warming say things like you said.
Yes, Al Gore does live in a mansion and does use more electricity, but his carbon footprint from his house is 0 because he consumes from green sources like solar and alternative energies*.
I used his movie as a good source of information to pass on, not necessarily that he has the “ownership” of global warming (note sarcasm). Unfortunately, haters are too busy picking apart the messenger and completely miss the vital message altogether.

INTERESTING THAT YOU CAN IGNORE THE COMMENTS ABOUT HIS FLIGHT TRAVEL. I’M JUST SAYING IF AL REALLY BELIVED WHAT HE PUTS OUT THEN HE WOULD CHANGE HIS WAY AS WELL. TYPICAL OF LIBERALS LIKE GORE TO TELL PEOPLE HOW TO LIVE BUT NOT FOLLOW THERE OWN
ADVICE ie LISTEN TO DEMOCRATS COMPLAIN ABOUT AMERICAN USING TOO MUCH FUEL WHILE THERE FILLING UP THERE GAS HOG SUV’S. AGAIN
I LIKE A CLEAN EARTH TOO BUT I DON’T USE THE OLD PARENTAL ADVICE “DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO”.
David,
I recommend you read my entire post without the first sentence. What message do you ACTUALLY see?
Cheers,

I CAN SEE YOUR WHOLE POST I WOULD SUGGEST
YOU DISCUSS THE THINGS YOU DO YOURSELF TO
BETTER THE GLOBE. NOTE USE A HYPOCRITICAL
PEROSN LIKE AL GORE TO BASE YOUR POST ON.
