I just finished watching the show and can’t believe Sabrina was eliminated. She danced well consistently and has a strong fan base. How was she booted off so early when you have so many less talented dancer? I must say I didn’t see this coming and I was completely wrong on her going to the final 3. Helio is my favorite and hope he wins, but it will seem more hollow without real competition against him. Also, is his fan base strong enough to take him all the way?
I really think this is a true popularity contest but even that doesn’t make sense, since Sabrina was sent home packing when she has such a big fan base. I wonder where the disconnect is. It is only natural to see the best compete with the best in the finals. Now, I have lost a little of my enthusiasm for the show. Now I can see the worse dancing star possibly winning. How enjoyable would this have been if Wayne Newton made it to the final competition? That is the way I feel about the show now that Sabrina is gone. To be honest with you, I am skeptical about how the voting really is done and if it is even real.
I am not a cheetah girl fan. If Sabrina had a poor performance, I think I could understand why she was voted off. If she had outward negative qualities about her that she displayed, then this possibly could make sense. Right now it looks like some type of error was made in the voting tabulation. She left gracefully, but I feel really bad for her. All the stars, celebrities and judges were surprised. What do you think?

Still can’t believe she got eliminated. Maybe her fan base didn’t think she needed the support since she was doing consistently so well? I always looked forward to her dances =(

Hi Joanne,
I still don’t believe it. I will miss her in the competition, too.
Thanks for the comment.
Cheers!
I don’t follow ths how that closely but I rmember that there was a very popular singer on Idol whom everyone thought was going to win. People actually became so sure of this that they stop voting for him and started voting for some of the underdogs and such. As a result he was voted off!
Perhaps similar happened with Sabrina?
AntiBarbie’s last blog post..Where are my peeps at?
Hi AntiBarbie,
That is a definite possibility, but this competition is suppose to be based partially on the judges numerical votes too. So even with a last place vote by the audience, the high score they got by the judges should have automatically advanced them. The bothersome part is you just don’t see how it is tabulated together.
Sabrina didn’t deserve to go. At this point in the competition you want to see the best. I feel myself cringing when Jane and Marie dance and sometimes Jennie. Sue

Hi Sue,
I agree with you 100%. I saw Sabrina on TV this morning. I think she just accepts it for what it is and focusing on the positive aspect of it. Good for her.
Cheers!
I think this happens quite often. Whenever you leave it to the public vote, it becomes a popularity contest and not about the talent. Talent helps, but if you have more fans, more friends, you get more votes - and you do not necessarily need talent for that. Well, actually yeah you need talent in getting popular.

Hi Ed,
I agree that it is definitely a popularity contest. She is gone and it is over. The show may be lacking the excitement and once had.
Cheers!
Hi Chessnoid,
Last week I was on vacation in CA (probably not too far away from your neck of the woods!) & didn’t watch TV at all while I was there. So, as a result, I waited to read your blog until I was all caught up on the back episodes on my TIVO, since of course reading your blog would’ve revealed the results of Dancing With The Stars.
Yes, the Sabrina debacle was an absolute shocker! If you think all of us at home & the in-studio audience were shocked, did you see the incredulous expressions on the faces of the judges! Wow, I really thought they were going to jump over their table & make some noise about it. Especially Bruno!
I think AntiBarbie is onto something with her theory. Of course, Sabrina didn’t deserve to go, as she was one of the most talented dancers there.
I know this is going to sound over-dramatic by saying this, but what an outrage/injustice! I was really looking
forward to seeing Sabrina compete in the final competition. There’s no question in my mind that she would’ve made it.
I’m rather bummed about it, but oh well, what can you do, except VOTE, people! 8-) Maybe I’ll make a point of trying to watch it live & suffer through the commercials, just so I can vote. So, everyone who was pissed off that Sabrina didn’t make it should take a lesson from this experience & vote! Now I’m really going to rally behind Helio. IMHO, he’s one of the better dancers there, & we can’t let him be voted off the show, now can we!!!!??!!!
Part of the reason I loved watching Sabrina is that I think she really got the competition going with her athleticism & competitive spirit. Plus, the sheer level of her performances made everyone else really step up their game to meet her efforts. She made the competition really exciting. Her dancing will certainly be missed by many, including me.
While I’m not a cheetah girls fan, I can certainly appreciate what she brought to the competition.
So, now it’s “Go, Helio, Go!”

cyberpenguin’s last blog post..
Hi Cyberpenguin,
I agree with everything you stated. AntiBarbie has a good point. The only thing that seems off is that half the voting is based on the judges. Meaning they take an average of the judges vote or count it as 50% of the vote and add it in with the audience vote for the other 50%. Based on the score they got from the judges, they were number 3. Even if they came in last with the viewers’ votes and came in last at number 7, the average would be 5th place overall. That is why something seems wrong. I am aware of the other shows where people vote in like in American Idol, but the judges on that show don’t have a scoring system. Sabrina was shortchanged but it looks like she is dating her partner now. At least that is what the rumors are.
I still like Helio, but Mel B is doing great too. She seems to have stepped it up.
