The weather where I live at has been in the low 50 degrees at night. That is very cold for me and I actually love it. The weather invokes feelings of the holidays coming. I am not really a big turkey eater nor do I get excited about receiving gifts, but I like the mood it puts most people around me in. It is a time when everyone is more nice and pleasant to be around and also magnifies my gratitude for everything I have in my life.
Tonight, I watched my most favorite show Dexter. His character keeps growing more dark every episode and the situation of him getting caught keeps getting closer. I can’t believe how well this dark drama of a serial killer is well written. It is based on a book I haven’t read, but I hope the author keeps writing more books, so Showtime can keep renewing it every season. With the writers’ strike going on now, some of the regular TV shows I watch will go into reruns. The late night show Conan O’Brien I watch are already reruns. This is probably a good thing because I have been watching more TV than I can remember.
Although last night, there was a free Showtime Elite-XC martial arts event. They showed 5 events and if I remember correctly all of them just went 1 round each. Nick Diaz lost due to a Dr stoppage because he was bloodied up pretty good, but I am sure he will recover and make a good comeback. An internet streetfighter Kimbo Slice made his MMA debut and knocked out his opponent in 10 seconds. I wish there was more of an exchange, but I think he will put on some more entertaining fights in the future.
I think the stock market will continue to be volatile into the new year. We may get a bounce tomorrow because we have had a streak of down days, but long term I still remain bearish. I am basing this on extraordinary high oil prices, an ever increasing housing inventory due to record foreclosures, a free falling US dollar currency, and a never ending war in Iraq. When these 4 things change, I think our economy will turn around but I have no idea when that exactly will be.

I still haven’t got around to watching the second episode of series two of Dexter. I like to save them up and watch them back to back on a weekend morning when everyone is still asleep. you’re right about the quality of the writing, I thought it was gonna blow chunks when I first heard of it but it’s a great show!

I haven’t finished Dexter Season 1 but it’s simply one of the best crafted series ever - that detachment is intense. I don’t exactly follow the market, but I just heard Asia plunged today as uncertainty of the strength of the US dollar continued.
Oh now that you mentioned the writers’ strike - someone left a comment on my blog about that

Hi YC,
Thanks for the comment. I read your post and the comments. I think that person is just going through a tough time right now and just didn’t like your headline. I hope things get better for that person.
Cheers!
Hi Andy,
I am glad you like it as much as I do. There was a serial killer movie called Mr Brooks that just came out on DVD. I think you might enjoy that too if you get a chance.
Cheers!
Me too! When the series first came out, I was hesitant to watch it thinking it would be cheesy, kinda like the ABC remake tv show, ‘Night Stalker’ with Stuart Townsend. But since I happen to like scary movies, I figured I’d give it a try - and wow, I’m addicted.
I often wish the episodes are longer than an hour .
And is it just me or does anyone else crave ham and eggs after watching the opening credits of Dexter?

Hi ALSS,

I am glad you like Dexter as much as I do. I know what you mean about craving the foods, I always want coffee, OJ, ham and eggs when I watch that show.
I can’t believe this season is just as good or better than last season. I hope a 3rd season is in the works. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
