Dexter, traffic, boxing, mma, + stock market week ahead.

I just finished watching Dexter and still excited about the direction season 2 is going.  His character is going through some major challenges with a freaky girlfriend Lila who has abandonment issues, old emotions for an ex-girlfriend he can’t let go, a framed co-worker Dokes who figures out his secret, the FBI leader who is investigating his police department with the FBI head dating his sister Debra.  I have mixed emotions about this show.  I love the build up of each episode to the next, and yet I know I will be sad when the show is over.  I am aware there is a 3rd book but the reviews have not been as generous as the first 2 books. I am almost tempted to buy the 3 books and read them, but you know that would cut into my stumbling time as well as my blog reading time.

I was checking my stats out lately and realized that different topics will get different readers to my blog.  I have actually received an unusual amount of hits from different search engines for my Bachelor posts. I would say a combined total of about 1,000 hits from msn, yahoo, aol, and mostly google.  The finale is tomorrow and everyone who is searching for the answer is not leaving any stones unturned.  They read the forums and search the blogs.  I have only given my point of views of who Bachelor Brad will pick.  There was another source of traffic for those posts called zimbio.  I never heard of it but it gave me about 400 visitors in 2 days, so I checked it out for a second.  It looks to be a variant of digg.  I didn’t sign up for it because I have more social media memberships than I can manage and utilize at this point.  Feel free to add me on any of them as your friends. Of course, I would be happy to add you back too.  I put the link in the sidebar widget or you can just click them here:

There seems to be some upcoming boxing fights I am looking forward to.  Roy Jones Jr is fighting Felix Trinidad next January and if RJJ wins, then he might fight the undefeated Joe Calzaghe.  All 3 fighters are past there primes but still very entertaining to watch. Even Bernard Hopkins issued a challenge to Calzaghe to come fight him on American soil.  Any mix of these fighters will be fun to watch.  Another fight on the horizon is Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Ricky Hatton, whom both are undefeated, which will make for an exciting fight.  I think Mayweather will win but I am secretly hoping Hatton gets a lucky knock out.  That would increase the chances of Oscar DeLaHoya fighting Hatton which would be another blockbuster fight.

On the mma scene, UFC 78 just aired and I saw a great fight between Thiago Silva vs Houston Alexander.  There was another good fight but I was happy that Thiago has kept his record perfect with a knock out to boot.  I did hear that Dan Henderson will be dropping down in weight to fight Anderson Silva.  That will be a great fight.  Both are seasoned fighters and exciting to watch.  I also heard Fedor will be fighting in December but they haven’t announced his opponent yet.  I think Josh Barnett would be a great matchup.

The stock market is looking like it’s going to have a crazy week.  Not so much on the credit crunch and housing market stuff, but more on the high crude oil prices and the falling US dollar.  Other countries are now looking to save their own economies and start investing in other currencies holding their value.  This of course will make it more complicated for the federal reserve to make interest rate cuts to ease our own credit worries in our domestic housing bust.  When I checked the close numbers of the European and Asain stock markets, all the index numbers were down, so I expect it to carry into tomorrow’s opening numbers.  Fasten your seatbelts for another crazy ride.
