The year is just winding down fast. I can’t believe 2008 is just a couple of weeks away. It just seems like yesterday everyone was worried if the Y2K problem was real and if all computers were going to go silent as well as the possible end of the world. I doubt anyone reading this will see that in our lifetimes.

I generally don’t make new years resolutions. I just try to do what I want to do to improve my life. I think waiting for a specific day is just a procrastinator’s tool. I have already started eating better a for 2 years and I didn’t wait till the new year.

I have a friend who is a few years older than me and I remember we had lunch one day before Thanksgiving at the Hometown Buffet. You know where you can eat all you want. Anyways, I had 2 plates but didn’t finish the second one. My friend on the other hand has a ritual of getting ready for Thanksgiving by eating as many plates of food possible. He loaded up his plate with food stacked high with everything in the buffet bar, and returned 5 more times for refills. Yes, he ate 6 loaded plates of food piled high. He put it away like it was nothing. He told me his record is 8 plates. Needless to say, I was getting sick watching him eat all this food. I don’t know if he still does this ritual since we haven’t had lunch since then. He is a cool guy who has weird priorities.

I am back to watching movies again. There isn’t really any TV shows that I follow now that Dexter is over. It seems even my late night shows like Conan are just reruns although I heard they will start the New Year with new shows just without writers. When my wife was flipping channels, she stopped on a rerun of Get Smart. I have to admit that is one of my favorite shows growing up. The humor was corny back then but I still find it very funny even today.

The stock market was like a see saw and closed mixed. There was some more bad housing news with losses being more than expected or readjusted. This will continue into the new year. I wonder if investors will shrug it off because there usually is an upward push on the markets to go up this time of the year.
