The high winds we had here in southern California put a damper on my blogging. I missed the last two days not because of lack of inspiration but because my cable connection was down. I had no TV or internet access. It is weird when that happens because it makes you start to think more and find creative activities to keep busy. I really did miss blogging and stumbling. Now that I have it back I am easing back into it. I spend many hours in front of a computer. Probably between 6-8 hours everyday and that doesn’t include work.
Another crazy thing when these media sources are cut off from me is that I don’t get any news from the outside world. I only realized that I didn’t have a radio inside the house. I think I will pick one up for emergencies. I did get an old antenna temporarily to watch TV the old fashioned way. Of course the reception wasn’t as good but it was definitely better than nothing.
I also had about 15 movies waiting to be watched on my DVR that I thought I lost but sure enough when the cable company restored everything it was still there.
Over Christmas I visited my family and got to see Mom, my 3 sisters and 1 brother and all their families. They are all married. I only learned recently from one of my sister’s personalized gift that had both their onscreen nicknames of both her and her husband that they actually met online though Match.com. I didn’t know how that actually worked but they are definitely a success story from that. This is probably the happiest I have seen my sister with a guy so I am truly happy that she and her husband met. I found the whole thing fascinating and wished I had more I could write about it.
