It’s already January 16 of 2008 and time seems to be speeding through the days like hours. I must admit I have been mesmerized with all the events taking place this year. I haven’t been able to do any decent amount of stumbling done at Stumble Upon. The stock market has been exciting in all its volatility. The real estate housing bust is in full swing. The President is kidding himself trying to be the peacemaker of the Middle East and ignoring all the economic problems he has racked up which is a direct result of our Iraqi invasion. The idea of getting a new president regardless of which party wins seems like a great change. I do hope we start our troop withdrawals. However, McCain on the Republican side wants to continue the effort and increase our troops. If he gets elected, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the draft come back.
I just started watching the Australian Open. I don’t know most of the newcomers, but they seem to just get better every year. Roger Federer is still dominating even when he is sick. I am currently watching the Williams sisters playing doubles. They are another awesome pair both in singles and doubles. I was kind of sorry to see Lindsay Davenport sent packing home. She is still making a comeback from her recent maternity leave. I wish she actually had beaten Maria Sharapova. Maybe at their next meeting. Australia looks like a paradise on the TV commercials and I bet would be a great place to take a vacation.
The market opened up down made a comeback but then went back down. I guess it is going to be like that everyday especially since many companies are announcing their earnings from last quarter.
