I really think many Democrats would like this ticket and the Clinton campaign is pushing this idea. I predicted this as a possibility on February 18 before the last Super Duper Tuesday primaries where many political analysts were wrong about Obama winning the big states of Ohio and Texas.
If you look at the total number of votes for each candidate, you will see the truth. It is 50/50. Half of the democrats like Obama and half like Clinton. If you haven’t figured it out yet, the secretive Super Delegates will probably wind up picking the democratic nominee. And once that is established, people will vote not to have another president like our current one who wants to stay in a war. Only die hard republicans will vote for McCain, because there is a majority of Americans (regardless of party affiliation) who are just tired of this war and will vote for the candidate who pledges to bring our troops home.
On a side note, I would love to see an Obama/Clinton partnership as running mates. The Democratic Convention may secretly pressure the winning nominee to agree to that since that alliance would get a high percentage voter turnout in the general election.
All of these political analysts talking about the Obama momentum based on polls is nonsense. The polls are just wrong. The voters now have a good idea of who they are voting for and not waiting for the last day to make up their minds. The polls are biased in their line of questioning to favor one candidate over the other and not being presented in a consistent manner which is why the statistical mathematics behind it is flawed. The sampling is simply poor.
I still believe both nominees will be about even now and will be about the same before the Democratic Convention. The super delegates were created for this type of situation and for them to be cowards and not voting for whoever they think is the best candidate for the party is annoying. Simply saying that if they don’t vote for the candidate with the most delegates will go against the will of the people is ridiculous. Many of those states were Caucus states which doesn’t include the ability of all registered democrats to vote. The total popular vote indicates there is a tie. I think a compromise is already in the works and that will be the Clinton-Obama ticket because that would get the most votes in the general election.

I think that a Clinton-Obama ticket would be best offense against John McCain otherwise they could cancel each other out and the Republicans would easily be in position to get elected again. Also as much as I think Obama is articulate and smart he does lack the experience Hillary has. The learning curve he would need could be a big drawback if he were to get elected.
