I saw that iced coffee commercial for McDonalds with the little web cam and what seems to be a Brazilian song playing in the background. Here is the youtube capture of the commercial with its nice jingle.
I tried to find out who sang the first part but wasn’t successful. I don’t know if it is a real song and since I don’t speak Portuguese I am not sure what the lyrics are. It did remind me of a CD my wife bought a few years ago that is absolutely one of my favorites. I wonder if Bebel Gilberto sings the McD’s adtune. Anyways, whenever I hear this romantic song that Bebel sings, I appreciate how lucky I am to have such a wonderful wife in my life.
I remember awhile back Starbucks started offering $1 coffee. Now I see many McD coffee commercials. I like the coffee at both places, but generally just brew my own at home now. I wonder how much business McD’s has taken away from Starbucks. Starbucks stock was trading at $18.50 yesterday. I wonder if they still sell $1 coffee.

i have been also attempted to find out who the singer is… the lyrics are

It does sound very similar to Bebel Gilberto - it wouldn’t surprise me at all to find out that’s who did it. I really wish they’d credit the artists when they use songs in commercials like that - it’s not like it would really kill them to share a little of the credit.
I emailed McDonalds and asked them. They said they have no idea. I would love to know. I think it’s a great song.
