I stopped posting since I went to my trip to Seattle. I actually blogged while I was there but haven’t published those posts. My intention was to just publish them when I got back. However, I have been busy in my real life that I have neglected my virtual life.
I think once I lost the momentum of posting on a regular basis because it was easier for me not to post at all. There were many things I wanted to blog about but I knew that once I posted once I would continue to post again. At that point, I was at a turning point of whether I wanted to continue blogging or not. I can’t say material was ever an issue. There have been a lot of things I wanted to talk about such as the economy, the presidential nominee, mma, stocks, my trip, etc.
I actually missed blogging and have decided to commit to doing so again. This is just a personal commitment of course, but one that gives me personal satisfaction. This is also another way for me to interact with people. I am not really an outgoing person. I am more of a loner type personality. My wife really gets that which is a blessing for me.
When I first started this blog almost a year ago, I was really into trying to build traffic for the site. I read many sites that discussed how to do that. Most of those sites also dealt with how to make money which is the biggest motivation for them. I learned about technorati, links, viral links, google page rank, and a whole lot of stuff. The place where I think I learned the most about building traffic was through MyBlogLog. Not that they give lessons or anything like that, but they provide a medium to meet and interact with other bloggers that have the same goals. I personally have met a lot of nice bloggers on line and even talk to one of them on a regular basis from Singapore.
That reminds me of when I was young at about 5 or 6 years of age when the teacher helped us get become pen pals with another class on the east coast. We would write letters to kids from another state which at that age seemed amazing. I remember getting that same feeling when I would play chess online at lycos or playsite with people from all over the world. Playing and chatting them was extremely fun. Eventually the novelty wears off, but that feeling of being connected to the world you get is cool.
So anyways today, I will recommit to writing in my blog to myself and I hope you continue to enjoy the stuff I blog about. Cheers!
One last thing, I think I will be creating some back posts on the original days I blogged but have not published. It is in my other computer, so as soon as I transfer the files over I will publish them.
