Gasoline, Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas, Flipping Out Jeff Lewis, + Dexter

When I went to work today, the price of gas on the way in was $3.37 and when I went home the price was $4.45 a gallon. How does the price go up that high that fast. LOL. Across the street, the other gas station was still the same at $4.49 a gallon. I was reading Dr Housing Bubble’s blog today which I subscribe by email. His topic of conversation was daily commuters from the inland empire to orange county. Temecula to Costa Mesa. Those homeowners whose houses have decreased by 30-50% are now struggling to pay there gas bill. Gas bills of $1,000 a month for daily commuters is becoming common place among truck and SUV drivers. That is more than the car and insurance payment combined. Southern California is a commuter state and now we are getting a double whammy.

People were walking away from their houses because it didn’t make sense for them to pay for a declining asset. Will people be walking away from their trucks and giving the keys back to the auto lenders? That wouldn’t surprise me. I know many people may still think this is unethical, but when it comes to supporting your family you will compromise some of your principles especially when the economy is the way it is.

I have been getting a lot of hits on this blog for the Bachelorette posts. I really like that show and ABC seems to have done a good job so far this season. It is actually the best Bachelorette show I have seen. Another reality show I am looking forward to watching is the Bravo’s Flipping Out series with Jeff Lewis. The first season showed him finishing up some house flips as the housing market was transforming from a bubble to a bust. Now we will see how he has adapted to the new environment. His assistants are really cool and make the show that much more entertaining. I saw the preview and it looks pretty funny. That show starts next week.

I know it is still far away but I am looking forward to the 3rd season of Dexter. The first 2 seasons were great and I hope the next one doesn’t disappoint. I am surprised how many good shows Showtime puts out. They have an MMA show coming up next week.
