Today was a sad day for me. A former co-worker and friend of mine recently passed away. I went to his funeral and saw many familiar faces from the past. Everyone was very cordial. For me, I started to feel sentimental. A few people spoke of Chuck and the experiences they shared with him. It brought tears to my eyes. It had been too long since I saw Chuck but the memories I have were good ones.
I met him in the collections field and he had a colorful personality. Someone you would remember by the stories and jokes he told with his extremely distinctive New Jersey accented voice. He conveyed his warmth and sincerity to help anyone he knew. I remember him telling me many times over the years that “if I were to die today, I would have no regrets at all. None what-so-ever. I’ve lived a full and happy life.”
You will be missed Chuck “14K” Gold. I will pray for you, thank you for your friendship, and I am glad our paths crossed.

THE MAN THE MYTH THE LEGEND…….14K
Yes my dear friend and friend to his fellow man will missed dearly. I cant wait to see him again and play a game of chess in the heavens. He loved with everything he had!! And he had no regrets!!! I learned many lessons from chuck. But the one i hold dear is … TO PREFER FRIENDS OVER KINGS….
14k Was a great person. One thing I really admired about him was the fact that he was always happy. I would see him and say “What’s up 14k! How ya feeling?” he would say “Great! Everyday above ground is a good day!” He was the type of guy that would go out of his way to help anyone. I knew that if I ever needed help, he would help and wouldn’t take no for an answer. That was a good feeling. Whether I saw him yesterday, or a couple months, I would always be happy to see him and greet him with a hug. That’s a true friend. Someone you haven’t seen in months, and you can continue where you left off last time like no time has passed. That is how you know you made a good connection, and a great friend. Rest in Peace Chuck. We all love you.
