Happy 4th of July

Today also marks my one year anniversary of blogging. I must admit it has been very enjoyable. I just finished reviewing my posts from last July to see what I wrote about and what was on my mind. My whole perspective was very much different back then as compared to what it is now. I still have the same interests from back then. Some of the things I blogged about concerning boxing and mma fights have actually materialized and passed like Roy Jones vs Felix Trinidad and BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk. Back then they were more rumors than events but they eventually happened. Roy Jones and BJ Penn both won as I predicted.

My first post was amazing to me just to see it published on the internet. My wife set up the blog and I just posted. At that time I wasn’t even getting 25 hits in a week. I read up on many blogs to figure out how to get more readers here. I remember another blogger telling me about MyBlogLog and that is where I became a featured member for a few days and I was given free traffic of up to 50-100 hits in a day. That made me really happy. I then joined a whole bunch of other social media groups. I have been fortunate enough to get as many hits as I have, and want to thank each and every one of you for reading my blog and sharing with me.

I think at times I became obsessed with the numbers. Maybe too obsessed. I posted my stats below. There were times as I read other blogs on how to increase traffic that I wanted to also monetize this blog. I did sign up and try a few things, but never really was happy about it so I didn’t pursue it. I haven’t made any money on this blog, but that was never really a purpose of this blog. This blog was really more of an online journal of my thoughts on the things that interested me and to share those thoughts with you. Just a way of giving back to the online community. What inspired me to do this originally was reading all the other blogs out there. I enjoyed reading other bloggers’ opinions of the housing market, the stock market, boxing, mma, increasing traffic, politics, puppies, coffee, inspiration, and gratitude. There are many more topics that I like to read about, but those are most of them. I have left many comments on many blogs because I wanted to share my opinion. Eventually, this blog was born because Mrs. CHESSNOID inspired me to express my opinions in my own piece of virtual real estate.
