Obama announced Joe Biden will be his VP running mate. After Georgia was invaded by Russia, his polling numbers went down and McCain’s number went up. The Obama camp hopes this VP pick will help them. Personally, I don’t think this was his best pick. Remember, that during the primaries, Biden didn’t even pick up any delegates. This would be worse than McCain picking Romney since he did pick up some delegates during his presidential run.
What I think is hurting Obama’s camp are the Clinton supporters who feel like they were robbed of their votes when the superdelegates and the DNC stepped in to pick him, even though he was losing primaries he was suppose to sweep. Then after he was chosen as the Democratic candidate he has flip flopped on every single issue: troop withdrawal, public funding, oil drilling, universal healthcare, and many others.
These 2 things have made people realize that his rhetoric was just a sales pitch. Just like a used car salesman saying whatever you want to hear to get the car sold. In this case, just so you vote for him. I think Zogby articulates what many voters feel: buyers’ remorse.
I really thought this would be a landslide for the Democratic party this election. Instead, I found myself changing my personal affiliation to Independent. It is easy to do. Just go to Rock the Vote, fill out the form, print it, then send it in. Originally, I was going to vote for whoever the nominee was chosen by the voters. I just felt like this party betrayed me with the way they handled this situation.
Now that I have seen Obama campaigning and going back on promises, changing sides on different issues, and see his previous associations to help him get to where he is at, I can only conclude he is the Democratic version of George Bush. That is not a good thing. Just because he is Democrat doesn’t mean he can’t muck it up even more than Bush. In fact, he possibly can. I guess one of the reasons I have this feeling is when I listen to Obama, I don’t get hypnotized by him like his many supporters. Instead, I hear someone just echoing the words of different advisers trying to give the answers that will give him the most votes, even if he had a different stance on it recently.
I have buyer’s remorse on Obama and the whole Democratic Party which is the primary reason why I changed to Independent, and it looks like my vote will be up for grabs. I am not impressed with Obama nor his running mate pick. Let’s see who McCain chooses. I will listen to all of them debate and will vote for the best. Or at least, the best of the worse.

Chessnoid has just articulated my thoughts exactly. I am so disgusted with the Democratic party right now. I can’t understand what everyone sees in Obama. Everything is being given to him. The DNC and the super delegates gave him the nomination. Now it looks like they want the VP nominee to carry him through to election. Seems he does not have enough experience, just and empty bag with pretty speeches. I am not going to vote at all. (disgusted black female for Hilary Clinton)
