Im-Palin the Democratic Party

Posted on Sep 7, 2008 by CHESSNOID in current events, economy, mishmash, politics | 0 Comments

Times are tough right now for America.  Bush, Bernanke, and Paulson have really mucked up the economy and I believe we are in 2 wars.  You would think that the Republicans wouldn’t have a chance to win the Presidential nomination.

Unfortunately, the Democractic Party committed self-sabatoge by cutting  its primaries short and forcing its superdelegates to push Obama over the top against Clinton.  How much common sense do you need to realize that if each candidate had 18 million voters, teaming them up would make the most sense?  When Barack chose Biden from the tiny state of Deleware to be his VP,  I think he and his staff had a brain fart and forgot that this General Election is to be decided by the electoral college.

With the easy fact that the Democratic Party keeps denying, the party is split.  I was personally so disgusted with the way they handled their election process and disapproved the collusion between Dean, Pelosi, Reid, and Brazille, that I changed to Independent.  They are still trying to convince the party that all democrats are united just because they forced both Clintons to endorse Obama. The PUMA (Party-Unity-My-Ass) population is getting bigger.

I think one reason is the writers are very articulate and express themselves well.  Two of my favorite PUMA sites are the Confluence and Klownhaus.

The Republicans have seen this weakness and have taken it as an opportunity to  expose it for what it is.  Enter Sarah Palin, the Republican VP running mate for McCain.  I agree with what Willie Brown from SFGate.com wrote:

The Democrats are in trouble. Sarah Palin has totally changed the dynamics of this campaign.

Period.

Palin’s speech to the GOP National Convention on Wednesday has set it up so that the Republicans are now on offense and Democrats are on defense. And we don’t do well on defense.

Suddenly, Palin and John McCain are the mavericks and Barack Obama and Joe Biden are the status quo, in a year when you don’t want to be seen as defending the status quo.

From taxes to oil drilling, Democrats are now going to have to start explaining their positions.

Whenever you start having to explain things, you’re on defense.

I actually went back and watched Palin’s speech a second time. I didn’t go to sleep until 1:30 a.m. I had to make sure I got the lines right.

Her timing was exquisite. She didn’t linger with applause, but instead launched into line after line of attack, slipping the knives in with every smile and joke.

And she delivered it like she was just BS-ing on the street with the meter maid.

She didn’t have to prove she was “of the people.” She really is the people.

The politicians talk about judgment and who is better at it. Both Obama and McCain are flip-floppers on all the issues so they are both equal in that regard. If you look at the strategic move they both made on their VPs, then you will see that someone hit a blackjack. Obama picked Biden just because his poll numbers dropped after the invasion of Russia into Georgia. The political analysts say this was a good move because Obama lacks foreign policy experience. Biden didn’t even get 80,000 voters when he was running against Obama in the primaries. Hello, is anyone home???? 18 million vs 80 thousand voters, who should be my VP?

Then McCain, played his card a week later and it looks like it is playing on the fact that 18 million Hillary Clinton supporters will not automatically be Obama voters in the General Election.  This could be the best decision John McCain has made in his whole campaign.  If he wins this presidential election during the worst GOP approval rating in history, a very severe recession with the highest foreclosure rates since the great depression, and while we are at 2 wars - then it will be because of Obama’s poor judgment in choosing the wrong running mate!  McCain may be possibly be saying Check and Mate.
