I watched both these great debaters and think they come out even. I think Obama debated like he always does, and this time I think McCain stepped it up. Considering the economy was the main issue, I would have thought Obama would have mopped him up. He did not school McCain and actually Obama seemed weaker than what the media claims which is he is stronger on the economy. He didn’t display those skills in this debate.
There was plenty of finger pointing and blaming from both sides. Overall, I was not impressed with Obama or with his generic plans. He actually needs to change his delivery because there is a sense of annoying pauses throughout his speaking pattern. Nor was I impressed with McCain and his generic plans. However, his debate delivery has improved dramatically since the Republican primaries. That is because his skill was very poor back then compared to Huckabee and Romney. During this town hall meeting, McCain comes across more sincere than Obama. Obama seems to be reciting from memory, but McCain seems to be speaking to the audience.
As far as the issues, neither candidate convinced me that they know what the answer is to fix the economy. What they convinced me is that this recession we are in now will definitely go into their first 2 years of his presidential term.
