I wrote a blog post earlier about what I thought about the debate. Sure enough because it wasn’t a glowing review for Obama or McCain, I had an Obama-bot (crazy Obama supporter who can’t think for himself) write in comments that were personal attacks against me, as well as condescending comments about my opinion. I imagine these particular voters to be aggressive and have a righteous attitude similar to those extreme religious FREAKS pushing their religion as the “right” one and trying to recruit you at the same time.
It is a big turn off and I can see why many loyal democrats are leaving the party. This reminds me of when I was criticizing Bush and all his failed policies and all the Bush-nuts would try to defend him by attacking previous democrat leaders and blaming the democrats for everything wrong in the country.
This Obamabot came back to my blog and made a comment to try to support his opinion. Too late because he or she lost credibility with me from the punk email they previously sent me. I think it is OK to be passionate and support whichever candidate you like, but trying to bully people in liking your pick is just ignorant.
There are many things negative and true about both candidates. It just seems weird to me that the Obama supporters are so whiny and look for acceptance when others don’t share their views. When I look at Obama and try to determine his character, I look at his past associations. Yes, all these people were people he dealt with directly including Reverend Wright who condemned America, Weather Underground founder William Ayers who hosted a house party for his Illinois Senate run, and now convicted Tony Rezko whom he received “help” in buying his million dollar house. People could argue that he didn’t do the deeds that these people did, but the truth is they do shed light into his character.
I don’t like Bush because of his extreme religious views and his questionable associations. That was before he was elected and we know how that turned out. On paper, Obama looks like the Democrat version of Bush. Other than Obama being a good speech speaker just like Bush used to be, he doesn’t have any real accomplishments and his experience is minimal. When you ask an Obamabot to give examples of what he has done, they repeat the same empty rhetoric that he will get change done. How? What are the plans to get these things done?
SInce Obama has been nominated as the democratic candidate, he has literally flip flopped on every issue. EVERY ISSUE. Here is a sample list form the Washington Post:
Top Obama Flip-Flops
1. Special interests In January, the Obama campaign described union contributions to the campaigns of Clinton and John Edwards as “special interest” money. Obama changed his tune as he began gathering his own union endorsements. He now refers respectfully to unions as the representatives of “working people” and says he is “thrilled” by their support.
2. Public financing Obama replied “yes” in September 2007 when asked if he would agree to public financing of the presidential election if his GOP opponent did the same. Obama has now attached several conditions to such an agreement, including regulating spending by outside groups. His spokesman says the candidate never committed himself on the matter.
3. The Cuba embargo In January 2004, Obama said it was time “to end the embargo with Cuba” because it had “utterly failed in the effort to overthrow Castro.” Speaking to a Cuban American audience in Miami in August 2007, he said he would not “take off the embargo” as president because it is “an important inducement for change.”
4. Illegal immigration In a March 2004 questionnaire, Obama was asked if the government should “crack down on businesses that hire illegal immigrants.” He replied “Oppose.” In a Jan. 31, 2008, televised debate, he said that “we do have to crack down on those employers that are taking advantage of the situation.”
5. Decriminalization of marijuana While running for the U.S. Senate in January 2004, Obama told Illinois college students that he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use. In the Oct. 30, 2007, presidential debate, he joined other Democratic candidates in opposing the decriminalization of marijuana.
After the nomination he flip flopped on the issue of public financing, troop withdrawal, oil drilling, etc. From Politico:
Hence Obama has been espousing positions anathema to the left on several issues.
On Iraq, Obama said Thursday that his upcoming trip there might lead him to refine his promise to quickly remove U.S. troops from the war.
He now supports broader authority for the government’s eavesdropping program and legal immunity for telecommunications companies that participated in it, after opposing a similar bill last year.
After the Supreme Court overturned the District of Columbia’s gun ban, the handgun-control proponent said he favors both an individual’s right to own a gun as well as government’s right to regulate ownership.
Obama became the first major-party candidate to reject public financing for the general election after earlier promises to accept it.
He not only embraced but promised to expand Bush’s program to give more anti-poverty grants to religious groups, a split with Democratic orthodoxy.
He objected to the Supreme Court’s decision outlawing the death penalty for child rapists, even though he has been anti-capital punishment.
Obama also said “mental distress” should not count as a health exception that would permit a late-term abortion, saying “it has to be a serious physical issue,” addressing a matter considered crucial to abortion rights activists.
As far as I am concerned, all politicians can change their minds. The big joke about Obama’s line about “change” is that all he has been doing is changing his mind. What bothers me is that some of these Obama supporters are so extreme in protecting him that they like bending the truth or personally attack you if you criticize him. They worship him like he is the second coming. He is just another rich guy, who like McCain, I am not impressed with at all. The thing is there are no McCain-bots trying to bully me to vote for their guy.
One last thing, I don’t know if I can vote for a guy who bowls like a little kid and throws only gutter balls in bowling. He bowled a 37!
