Lately, I have been getting more calls on my cell phone from weird numbers that I don’t recognize.  I usually don’t pick up, but if you get these calls, just type it in google and you will see complaints if it is one of those telemarketing type calls.  My cell is a prepaid phone because I only use it for emergencies, so it is a bit annoying when they use up my minutes.  I might have to change my number again.

At work, I also get many “robot” calls about credit card merchants and automobile warranties.  I think it is a waste of time and can’t imagine people actually staying on the line for these sales pitch.  In collections, they do use these same voice dialers but they have live operators to speak with.

I notice that we get a lot more walking solicitors too.  I am not talking about magazine subscriptions and perfume either.  I am talking about business guys going door to door for commercial office rentals, office, equipment, and even oil changes.  Now that is a tough job.
