Apple up, Yahoo down

Both these companies are well established and can influence the broad market. Apple announced higher than expected earnings and Yahoo announced poor earnings that were also expected. Today was a down day in the stock market but it did bounce up and down near the DOW 9,000 mark. The markets closed down between 2.5 to 4% and ended at:

Even though the stock futures are dramatically up or down the night before, there is no guarantee whether the market will follow through the next day. Apple will definitely be up tomorrow, Yahoo probably down tomorrow, and the overall stock market will open down at the opening based on the stock future numbers right now.
