Another exciting day on Wall Street

Posted on Oct 23, 2008 by CHESSNOID in Economy, Recession, housing market, stock market | 0 Comments

Today was another day in the amusement park we call Wall Street. The stock markets were literally up and down all day. In the end, they closed mixed with the last hour push that seems to be more consistent lately.  I really don’t think they are all bargain hunters.

8,691.25 +172.04 (2.02%)
1,603.91 -11.84 (-0.73%)
908.11 +11.33 (1.26%)

Earlier in the day, I thought we would actually close down a few hundred on the DOW and close in on the 8,000 mark.  It did get as low as 8,243.55 at one point, so you can see it made comeback in the end.

I don’t know if Friday will be a volatile day or not. The stock futures are all pointing down for now, but that only seems to affect the first hour of trading. Seems like the last hour is when either all the buyers or sellers come out. I am not sure why they are down.

Dow -158.00 -1.80% 8,616.00
NASDAQ -14.00 -1.12% 1,239.50
S&P -14.70 -1.61% 900.50
