And the winner is…

It is just before 8pm in California and the electoral college shows Obama 207 vs McCain 141 based on the exit polls. California always goes Democrat and we have 55 electoral votes, so it will be an Obama victory assuming the final vote counts add up the way they are projecting.

What stands out to me is the number of votes counted so far in the popular vote. It is right now about 33.5 million vs 32 million. That is actually pretty close. Hopefully we will have the final tally by the end of tomorrow. The end of the Bush era is officially over tonight, even though we don’t kick him out till January.
