A couple of weeks ago the older Roy Jones Jr was beat up by Joe Calzaghe in convincing fashion. Last night, we saw the younger Brock Lesnar take out the legendary Randy Couture. Is this a pattern that will prevail in the next big fight coming up soon?
I am talking about Oscar Delahoya vs Manny Pacquaio. That fight next month is sure to break PPV records. I will have to pick DLH over Pacman just because of size. I think in the mma fight Lesnar’s size made a difference in Randy’s loss. I think in this boxing match, DLH natural weight advantage will be enough to give him a win over Pacman.
I think RJJ did have a puncher’s chance against Calzaghe, and even showed it in the first round. He just didn’t have the ability to outbox Calzaghe who is a better boxer. RJJ wasn’t getting off any punches.
Pacman does throw a lot of punches but going up 2 weight classes may mean he slows down his punch output and possibly doesn’t gain punching power along with his weight. On the other hand DLH is much older and slower than when he was in his prime. Also, I don’t think DLH has fought someone who throws that many punches consistently every round. I am calling DLH to win this fight by decision, but even if I am wrong the fight will definitely be entertaining since both fighters always put on a good show. I think DLH will finally be the first Mexican fighter to defeat Pacman who has a long list of wins over Mexican fighters in the lower weight classes.
