As of yesterday, the number of banks being seized by the FDIC is now up to 25.  That doesn’t sound like a big number but banks are so much bigger than before.  I think these failures are starting to eat away at the insurance funds.

I was on holiday when this story broke out. All I saw was the TV news coverage on CNN, Fox, CNBC and the local stations in Frisco.  They were all pretty much saying the same thing.  So today I got to read a little bit more information as more dirt is dug up.

Yesterday, all the markets did close up by the end of the day.  The news was bad and now some market experts are calling this the bottom. They figure that if the market can bounce up the way it did after the auto bailout failed that the economy is recovering.
