Due to the severity of his medical condition he is unable to return to work and I in turn lost my job. We have always been good customers, made our payments on time and even exceeded the minimum monthly payments. In some cases we even paid off our credit card balances when we received our taxes every year. Now we find ourselves in this financial hardship where disability is pending and we are living from my unemployment benefits. We reached out to our creditors for hardship programs and found that only 3 of them were willing to help us and work with us while 2 of the most popular and known companies refused to help us or work with us. Like many of the writers on this post... I would like to know who can we contact in order to benefit from this credit card bail out program? Some of these Credit Counseling companies are just as bad the creditors! I am afraid to go online and input my information in any of these companies that claim that we can receive help through them. Where do we go for services? Will the Government offer locations or specific companies to run these programs? Where do we find the information? No one wants to be in a financial situation like this... Like I told the rep of one of these credit card companies... I pray that you never have to go through this... During that time I have been able to keep all my payments current. My IRA took a big hit last year and it is getting harder to keep up with my credit card, house and utility payments. I understand to qualify for the credit card bailout I would have to be delinquent with my payments. When are the responsible people going to get help from the government? I do not expect other people to swoop in and solve my life I think this is a problem with our country! everyone is waiting for a hand out! and lets punish the people that pay there credit cards by not helping them out at all! seems backwards to me! Go government!
