I have completed and sent in my taxes already for both Federal and State. I owed money which is a good thing since that means I made money last year. The bad thing is this tax money will be spent on more FRAUD bailouts.
Even funnier is the government under the Obama administration has already spent more than it collects, so the deficit will be even worse than under the Bush Administration.
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)–The U.S. budget deficit closed in on $1 trillion just halfway through the fiscal year, driven by a recession that’s sucked away tax revenues and sent millions of people scrambling for jobless benefits.
The federal government posted a budget deficit of $192.27 billion in March, the sixth month of fiscal 2009, the Treasury Department said Friday.
The government has run a deficit for six straight months. The last time that happened was October 2003 through March 2004. The record streak is May 1991 through March 1992.
A survey of economists by Dow Jones Newswires forecast a March deficit of $150.0 billion. The Congressional Budget Office had estimated a deficit of $191 billion.
For the first six months of fiscal 2009, the budget shortfall totaled $956.80 billion. In the first six months of fiscal 2008, the government ran a deficit of $312.75 billion. In all of fiscal 2008, the government ran a deficit of $454.80 billion, which was a record high.
I stay away from the post office on tax day because it is a madhouse with crazy lines just to drop off mail. There is already enough stress getting your taxes done without having to add on the post office craziness.
