Consititutional rights and police states

When Rodney King was beat up by multiple cops with other cops watching on the sideline, many people were shocked to see the brutal violence on TV because they have never seen it or it was because the cops were the bad guys or both.

I have actually been pulled over before by a California highway patrol yelling in my face with spit coming out of his mouth. I remained calm and compliant. When all was said and done, the CHP officer didn’t ticket me nor did he explain to me what law I violated. My wife was in the car with me at the time and we were both dressed up in our business clothes. Needless to say, I way a shaken up a bit after the verbal abuse.

I think we have all have had a bad experience with an officer of the law, so it is not to say that they are all bad. However, you can only go by with your personal experience and what you see. Here is a recent border patrol incident that happened a few days ago caught on video tape.

Tape 1

The first tape was long.  I think the person in the car is actually a Baptist pastor.  Personally, in that situation I would have driven up to the checkpoint with my window down, put on a fake smile on my face  , and answered their questions and been on my way.  I am not the type who wants  to get beat up or looks for trouble. That is not to say the pastor was looking for trouble.  The Pastor was actually right and stood up for his Constitutional rights.  The border patrol agents in this video tried to intimidate him with a show of force, weapons, and threats (they even accused him of being a terrorist).

Still, I wasn’t sure why he really got hassled for his minor protest on not allowing the illegal search.  Apparently, the pastor goes back and forth from Arizona and New Mexico for work reasons.  He wasn’t coming from Mexico or crossed any international border lines.  The pastor actually stays calm throughout the video, doesn’t do anything illegal, but I think that video camera stopped worse things from happening to him.

Now check out video 2 and see what happened to him a few days before.  I think this is him again based on his voice.

Video 2

This is why I allow police officers to infringe on my rights because I don’t want to get beat up.  I think the pastor should hire an attorney and take legal action against them.  I could actually see the first video possibly ending the same way in the second video if it wasn’t in broad daylight and there were no people around to watch and become testifying witnesses.

After watching the 2nd video, I understood why he seemed so apprehensive in the 1st video.  He stood up for his rights which is courageous knowing that he was risking getting beat up again.  Since the Bush Patriot acts passed, I think different law enforcement agents may have become abusive with their authority.

Watch this 3rd video with this cop and kid.

video 3

After the cop realizes what he has done, he worries that it might have been taped. This kid was never going to be able to do anything to that big cop. If this cop had a taser, this kid would probably have been electrocuted for non-compliance.
