I don’t know how bad this epidemic is going to get, but it seems everyday they are finding more people in more countries affected. Mexico is less than a 2 hour drive for me and that is where they think it may have broken out.
When the bird flu broke out a couple of years ago, I was afraid it would get worse and eventually make its presence known in the US. Fortunately, it was contained for the most part across the ocean. This swine flu happening on home isn’t just something you watch on TV because its in our own backyard.
Our state governor Arnold has already declared it a state of emergency. He took preemptive action just in case it got worse. Reuters:
Richard Besser, acting head of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said he expected more bad news even though most of the 65 U.S. cases of swine flu were mild.
“We’re going to find more cases. We’re going to find more severe cases and I expect that we’ll continue to see additional deaths,” he said.
