Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton

I know the oddsmakers have Pacquaio to win with odds of 2 to 1.  I think most people believe Pcaquiao will beat and knock out Ricky Hatton. Pacquaio is fast and hits hard, but I am not convinced of his power at the higher weight.

Yes, he had beat up the Golden boy passed his prime, but in my mind I don’t think that was a legitimate fight.  Anyways,  this time around, I think styles will make a difference and can determine the outcome of this fight.  Hatton loves to slug it out like Pacquiao and may get a lucky punch that lands and knocks out my favorite fighter.

This will be a great fight tonight between 2 excellent fighters.  I blogged about this before:

On HBO they will be having a replay of the Manny Pacquiao vs David Diaz.  Pacquiao is always a great entertaining fighter to watch.  I have a feeling he will be fighting Ricky Hatton next for his biggest payday.  Hatton already has called him out and said he would like to fight Pacquiao or Delahoya in his last fight before he retires.  I think DLH will be too big and will outbox him.  I think against Pacquiao he definitely has a better chance of winning because Pacquiao’s defense is not tight.  I think Hatton could match up well in punch output against him.  Those two boxers fighting will definitely end in a knockout.  I will be rooting for Pacquiao.  The funny thing about this is a year ago I blogged about this fight being a great fight if the promoters could put it together. Looks like it will be coming true soon. The main disadvantage I see for Manny is that Hatton is naturally a bigger guy and that going up in weight to fight Hatton may affect his conditioning and his punching power.

Pacquiao is a great boxer and if he knocks out Hatton, I think his next fight might be Floyd Mayweather Jr.  That fight will be for bragging rights for the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
