I like listening to Nouriel Roubini aka Dr Doom who for some reason reminds me of Dracula. I respect his financial opinions as he was one of the early forecasters of the housing bubble and bust. He never comes across as just being a cheerleader like most salespeople (real estate agents and stock brokers) or industry people who need rising values to churn out commissions. He gives good insight of what he observes on the overall economy and explains what numbers supports those conclusions.
You listen to experts like John Lonski of Moody’s Investors who seem ready to call the bottom of the market based on green shoots or credit markets starting to thaw out, and all I see is more wishful thinking. 2 years ago, experts like Lonski, Bernanke, and Paulson were all on the wrong side of the equation claiming our economy was impervious to any weakness or they had supposedly taken the necessary action to avoid a mild recession or slowdown. I think the denial of these well educated financial idiots basically lead the entire American economy into the Bush-Obama Depression we now live in.
