I went down to California this weekend and the weather was excellent. I stayed at LAX in a nice 4 star hotel and visited my mom. The hotel was less than what I expected for the number of stars it had. I read the reviews on line and it was suppose to be outstanding but my experience was just satisfactory.
My mom is in great health and I like visiting her. I don’t get to see her as much as I use to since I moved out of state. We went out to one of her favorite Filipino restaurants for breakfast and ordered some authentic meals. I’m sorry I can’t remember the names of the food. I think I picked the wrong food or something because my meal wasn’t savory. My mom enjoyed it so that’s all that matters.
My tiny car drove like a champ. I had the oil changed before making the trip and it performed like it was brand new. I have had that car over 2 years now and incredibly have only put 20,000 miles on it. For me that is a record. I usually put 30-40,000 miles in a year. One reason that has dropped down is because I started living closer to where I worked. Before I went self employed, my work was only 10 minutes away with traffic. Now that is incredible. Funny thing is the closer I worked the more times I seemed to be late vs when I lived far away from work I always showed up early.
As far as the UFC 100, it was entertaining and I picked 2 out of the 3 fights correctly. I knew Lesnar would beat up Mir. I have always thought Mir was overrated, and I think Lesnar is getting better. He may not be at the level of other MMA fighters, but his size and incredible speed are advantages that make up that deficit. I knew Henderson was going to knock out Bisping too. As far as GSP vs Alves, that is the one I got wrong. I thought either Alves would get a lucky punch or GSP would submit Alves. I would have never guessed it would go 5 rounds to a decision.
Lastly, I got to spend more time with my wife and that just made everything perfect. We drank lots of coffee, listened to some music, and enjoyed each other’s company. I am one lucky fellow and am grateful for all these blessings. I hope you had a great weekend too. Cheers!!
