UFC vs Strikeforce. Personally, I like watching both of them.

Many MMA organizations  have come and gone, with UFC eating them up .  I think the UFC wants a monopoly on MMA, but it will never happen.  They will be the most profitable PPV wise, but the one problem they have is their leader is weak and a jerk (not even a die hard UFC fan can defend against that opinion).  The UFC is profitable despite Dana White.

If you ever listen to him, you can catch his lies all the time and hear him contradict himself all the time.  It just depends if it serves his purpose.

Listen to Dana on Strikeforce in this video:

Dana on Strikeforce in October 2008

Dana is a little girl crying for a barbie doll she can’t have, so now he is throwing a tantrum and putting all his energy on trying to destroy Strikeforce.  Why?  Is it because he didn’t sign Fedor?  Sounds like a vendetta against Fedor more than Strikeforce.  Randy Couture already saw it coming based on his recent comments.

Randy Couture:

“The back-and-forth is starting now between the UFC and Strikeforce,” Couture said Tuesday. “There were a lot of competitors out there for the UFC, and Strikeforce is the last one standing. So it was only a matter of time before the adversarial relationship started between them, I think, with the Affliction stuff and those contracts being up in the air and both organizations trying to sign those fighters.”

And now Dana has done an about face because he didn’t sign Fedor.

MMA Weekly:

Fedor will put Strikeforce out of business,” a ruffled White said. “No one watched the last Strikeforce show…they have no money, and no one to fight Fedor.”

To boot, White called the promotion “Strikefarce.”

“They’re a small time show; they’re trying to act like they have something,” he stated. “Cung Le hasn’t defended his title since like 1997, Josh Thomson hasn’t defended his title in something like two years, (Alistair Overeem) hasn’t defended his title in two years. Strike-farce. It’s a joke. It’s a tiny little regional show with nobody in it.”

This shows his ignorance. Strikeforce isn’t as big as the UFC but nor are their expenses. It is obvious the UFC started the false rumors about Fedor being offered $30 million to sign with them. All the UFC fans are upset because now Fedor isn’t going to fight Brock. Big deal. Fedor would knock out or submit Brock in the first round like he did with Tim Sylvia and Andre Arlovski. Dana’s claim that Fedor doesn’t want to fight the best are silly. Other than Brock the current UFC heavyweight champion, who would he fight in the UFC?

Bloody Elbow:

..consider what UFC has to offer for credible competition over the next year or so, other than Lesnar and Frank Mir:

* Randy Couture. A 46-year-old. A very tough, very skilled 46-year-old, to be sure, but each day brings him closer to qualifying for an AARP membership.
* Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Already lost to Emelianenko twice.
* Cain Velasquez. Has all of six fights.
* Junior Dos Santos. At 8-1, his record is thinner than Rogers’ or Carwin’s.
* Shane Carwin. His 11-0 record is comparable to Rogers’ 10-0 resume — if you remove Rogers’ win over a former UFC champion.

Either way, Emelianenko faces a paucity of exciting, big-name challenges. Little wonder that his choice came down to building his business instead.

And the idea that Fedor would put these companies out of business is silly. He wasn’t the most paid fighter in any of the Affliction events. MMA payout:

I read the forums and I can see the difference between UFC fans and MMA fans are distinct. The new UFC fans think the UFC invented MMA and hate Fedor because he signed outside the UFC.  Real MMA fans know the UFC is not the inventor of MMA and that Fedor has fought the best fighters and is respected by real MMA fans and MMA fighters alike.

You hear Dana calling Fedor names and has said both Arlovski and Sylvia would easily beat Fedor. He claims that Fedor is overrated, but yet lusts after him and claims they were willing to do anything to meet his demands.   Why does he want Fedor so much if he is overrated and why does he want to destroy Strikeforce who he had wish success just 9 months ago?

I personally like watching both the UFC and Strikeforce shows. What I don’t like watching is the immaturity Dana displays and brings to the sport.
