What’s up with the Obama administration telling the sitting New York governor David Patterson to step down?  I am not a fan of the governor but it really seems weird that the Obama administration called for him to publicly relinquish his position.  Imagine if the President just called out different Senators, Congressman, or Governors not to run again.

That seems to be the opposite of allowing the people to decide who stays and who goes.  Isn’t that why we have voting, so we the people can decide who should be in office or not?
