Dexter season 4 and Californication season 3

Posted on Oct 6, 2009 by CHESSNOID in Californication, Dexter, Entertainment | 3 Comments

I haven’t really blogged about it, but I still am watching both Dexter season 4 and Californication season 3.  Dexter is still interesting to me.  We are only 2 episodes in the season but his character is going through another transformation as he becomes sleep deprived from his new baby keeping him awake.

I thought the first episode of Dexter with a cliffhanger at the end was a good start.  I wasn’t sure if the show was going to trick us into thinking it was a dream or hallucination.  After watching the 2nd episode and watching Dexter Morgan resolve that situation even though he has a concussion was well done.  It still makes me want to watch the show.  I do like the fact that the FBI guy Special Agent Frank Lundy who specializes in serial killers is back.  Also, the secret relationship between Angel Batista and Lt. Maria Laguerta is interesting.  I think the show needs to develop the new guy’s character Joey Quinn who is Debra Morgan’s partner.  I think the new serial killer played by John Lithgow is pretty good so far and watching him stalk his victims develops his character too.

Californication to me seems to have lost a little steam.  I am not as excited to watch this season as I was the first season.  It seems like the writing is not as witty as the first season.  David Duchovny plays his character just like the previous seasons but his situations are not as appealing with the new characters and new situation teaching college.  I will still watch the show but I am losing a bit of interest in it.

In case you missed either, you can watch them online,  or these clean versions:

Enjoy!

I was surprised after what you said about Californication that you still gave it 5 stars. I really enjoyed the first two eps. You have to remember, that they have brought in at least 5 new characters and had to set things up. I thought for just a half hour show they did a good job in doing that. It took a few eps last season too to get going. I ended up loving season 2 even more then the first season. I’m looking forward to season 3 and i’m happy they will be coming back for a 4th.

Hank Moody for Prez! Proper retrosexual dude :-D But it’s Dexter that floats my boat..This season certainly is not disappointing the die-hard fans!
Now onto episode 5 “Dirty Harry”.. I wonder who shot Deb & Lundy.. Was it Trinity or the Vacation Murderer? Season 4 is certainly shaping up to be as awesome as expected!
