Instead of using taxpayer money, they should get donations from IDIOTS like you. You probably think running trillion dollar deficits is a great idea and having 40 million people out of work is good too. We have millions of homeless people in the US and you want to build space colonies like in comic books. WAKE UP you dumb idiot, there is no money to do that.

You realize they didn’t just arbitrarily decide to blow something up, right? They discovered what is potentially billions of gallons of water – ie, that there’s a possibility for sustainable population and alternative fuel source.

Also, it’s not like 79 million dollars just disappears. The money is spent and circulated back into the economy, just like when you buy anything. When you buy a TV, the money doesn’t just disappear and more money has to be printed.

You’re also not considering future generations. All you’re thinking about is how we can overpopulate our already overpopulated planet instead if figuring out how to establish new colonies elsewhere in case something tragic that could potentially end mankind happens.

I guess we could make more corn to put in all of your food though.

Stop thinking about how this is a ‘waste’ of 79 million. Just because you wouldn’t use it to potentially extend the lifespan of humans doesn’t mean that someone else using it for that is a waste.

Not only should we ask the economic question, but more importantly, we should be asking the moral question – “What right do *we* have to go blowing up the moon?”

Last I checked, the U.S. doesn’t own the moon does it? Then shouldn’t people all across the world have a say in this too – especially in something that affects them? Shouldn’t this be a topic for discussion and a vote in the U.N.?

Whatever happened to being gentle to our Universe? Haven’t all the destruction we’ve brought upon our own planet Earth taught us any lessons by now? Do we have to go destroying everything else around us?

How would NASA and the U.S. government like it if Aliens from other planets suddenly went “Hey, I wonder what’s inside Earth’s crust? Let’s go blow it up n’ find out!” I hope they target NASA first.

The stupidity of this boggles the mind. They already know that humans can not survive in space and on other planets because human cells can’t be sustained in alien environments and lack of gravity.

They’ve made known their plans of building colonies on the moon (”because Mars is too far”)complete with oxygen and gravity-producing plants.

Massive waste of tax dollars goes on the same way the banks blew people’s money and lives. Who gave them the right to destroy the billions if not trillions of dollars they literally steal with no accountability whatsoever?
